Clayton Co. police search for abducted infant

RIVERDALE, Ga. — Clayton County police are looking for an 8-month-old that was taken from a rehabilitation center.

Officials reported Montevious Vius Whitfield missing at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from Smith Transitional and Rehabilitation Services on Commerce Blvd. in Riverdale.

Authorities said the infant's parents, Montevious Terrell Howard, 17, and his mother, who is a minor, took the child from the center.

Baby Montevious was currently under the Department of Children and Family Services care. His parents were on a supervised visit with a DFACS worker monitoring.

Baby Montevious was last seen with his mother in a bathroom at the rehabilitation center. They then were seen leaving the area.

The infant was last seen wearing a yellow, navy and white shirt with khaki shorts and Oxford-styled white sneakers.

The mother was last seen wearing an orange sun dress and flip-flops.

Abducted infant located

RIVERDALE, Ga. —

Clayton County police said early Thursday morning an 8-month-old who was taken from a rehabilitation center was found safe.

Officials reported Montevious Vius Whitfield missing at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from Smith Transitional and Rehabilitation Services on Commerce Blvd. in Riverdale.

Authorities said the infant's parents, Montevious Terrell Howard, 17, and his mother, who is a minor, took the child from the center.

Police said the parents were taken into custody. No other information was immediately available.
