MITCHELL KILLPACK - 16 yo - Houma LA
The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is
searching for a teenager they believe ran away from home on his first
day of high school.
Mitchell Killpack, a Houma 16-year-old, was last seen by his parents
leaving their home at 903 Pueblo Drive, not far from the Southland
Mall, on Aug. 11. Killpack’s parents said they believed he was headed
for a school bus and first-day classes at H.L. Bourgeois High in Gray.School
employees called that afternoon, they said, reporting that Killpack had
not appeared in class; the parents called authorities that day and
reported him missing.Maj. Brent Hidalgo of the Sheriff’s Office said detectives have no evidence pointing to kidnapping or other foul play.“We have no other reason to believe at this time that this is something other than a runaway,” he said.Killpack is 6 feet tall and weighs 131 pounds. He has short red hair and hazel eyes.Sheriff
Vernon Bourgeois said reports of runaways are “fairly rare” in
Terrebonne. Though Killpack appears to have left on his own, Bourgeois
said his safety is still a concern.“We live in a different world than when I was 15 or 16 years old,” he said.Mitchell Killpack lives with his mother and stepfather, Liz and Keith Bankston.Liz
Bankston said she last saw him in a school uniform but suspects he is
wearing a white or black T-shirt with jeans, the clothing she noticed
missing from his belongings.Bankston said she believes her son
remains in Terrebonne Parish but could be traveling to Lehi, Utah,
where his father, Mark Killpack, lives.Hidalgo said authorities in Lehi, near Salt Lake City, have been notified but have been unable to contact his father.A
call to the Lehi Police Department was not returned Monday. Attempts to
reach Mark Killpack through acquaintances in Lehi Monday night were not
successful. His stepfather described him as a good student who
recently had run-ins with the law, possibly the result of spending time
with friends who have police records of their own.In the spring,
he was arrested twice in two weeks, Keith Bankston said, on charges
that involved several car burglaries. His parents asked him to take a
drug test after his arrest, which came back positive for marijuana and
a prescription pain killer, Keith Bankston said.Bankston said
Killpack spent more than 100 days in rehab and counseling and that upon
release officials told him he would likely receive probation.Family
members said Killpack appeared to have left the bad behavior behind
him, making his disappearance even more unexpected and troubling.“It just shocked all of us,” Bankston said. “Even in his darkest hour with the drugs he still brought home straight A’s.”If you have information on Killpack, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office asks you to call detectives at 876-2500.

Welcome to J4C dmm23! We appreciate your updating is on this case.
Can you provide a link or a reprint of a law enforcement news release or media follow up?
Though it's not that unusual to not get an update on a case we would like to verify this teen as found and safe.

Re: MITCHELL KILLPACK - 16 yo - Houma LA
I am his older brother's fiance'. We never sent any updates to the newspaper. His files are suppose to be sealed now so we are trying to get all of these articles off the interent. I hope that helps. Thanks.

Re: MITCHELL KILLPACK - 16 yo - Houma LA
Welcome dmm23. That certainly is great news. The problem is that we do need information from an official source as I'm sure you will understand.
Even then, we will only move this thread to our Found topic. I'm afraid that it is impossible to erase anything off the internet. Once it's out there it's there forever, even if we deleted it here now, if you google his name it would still be there. Unfortunately there are consequences to his actions that can't be undone in this age of the internet.
