I really hope this doesnt turn out like our missing Susan Powell. Different order but same psychopathic tendencies by Terry. Please God dont let this woman have that child. Im fearing she may even murder him and the child. This could be a story on ID channel if they do not watch carefully and use the Susan Powell case as an example this could be very tragic, more than it already is! UGH

Kyron Horman's stepmom trying to force investigator, estranged husband to testify
By Maxine Bernstein, The Oregonian
on July 25, 2013 at 6:16 PM,
updated July 26, 2013 at 9:58 AM
Terri Horman's lawyers want to question her estranged husband and a lead investigator into the 2010 disappearance of her stepson Kyron Horman as she seeks to contest a renewal of a long-standing restraining order against her.
Her attorneys this month filed subpoenas to also obtain any documents from husband Kaine Horman that would support his allegations that she "is being investigated by law enforcement for involvement in violent crimes."
The subpoenas went to Kaine Horman and Multnomah County sheriff's Deputy Bobby O'Donnell, the lead investigator in the first 18 months after the 7-year-old boy vanished from school.
But Multnomah County prosecutors, the county's attorneys, Kaine Horman's lawyer, and O'Donnell have moved to quash the subpoenas, arguing that any testimony by investigators or disclosure of evidence would jeopardize an ongoing criminal inquiry.
A grand jury convened in the case has been extended several times, most recently for another six months, Multnomah County's Chief Deputy District Attorney Don Rees wrote in court records last week.
The DA's office "continues to actively pursue this investigation and has in no way foreclosed the possibility of initiating criminal prosecutions arising from the disappearance of Kyron Horman," Rees said.
"While the case has yet to be resolved, the investigation is currently active and the grand jury continues to receive evidence and consider the testimony of witnesses presented by the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office," Rees wrote.
Circuit Judge Henry Kantor has scheduled a hearing on the matter for July 30.
Kyron Horman hasn't been seen since June 4, 2010, after attending a science fair at Skyline School. Terri Horman told investigators that after attending the science fair with him, she said goodbye and saw the boy walk toward his classroom at 8:45 a.m. He wasn't reported missing until that afternoon when he failed to return home on the school bus.
No arrests have been made and Kyron is still missing. Terri Horman is now living with her parents in Roseburg.
Carlos J. Calandriello, senior assistant Multnomah County attorney, said in court papers that the Sheriff's Office continues to receive and follow up on tips about the boy's disappearance.
"Investigators have not closed the case, and the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office and its partners continue to pursue leads, examine evidence and consider potential suspects," Calandriello wrote.
In Kaine Horman's petition to renew the restraining order against his wife, he wrote that he believed Terri Horman was responsible for the disappearance of his son and that he had been told by law enforcement officers that his wife had "attempted to hire our landscaper to kill me for money."
Terri Horman's lawyer, Peter Bunch, countered in court last month that Kaine Horman's allegations were based solely on hearsay.
The judge last month granted a one-year renewal of the restraining order, and Bunch filed a motion afterward requesting a hearing within 21 days to contest it.
The restraining order has prohibited Terri Horman from having any contact with her husband or their now-4 1/2 -year-old daughter.
This marks the first time that Terri Horman has contested the restraining order, which the court has renewed each year since 2010.
Kaine Horman's attorney, Brett Engel, characterized Terri Horman's maneuver as an attempt to conduct "one-sided discovery."
Engel said Terri Horman has a right to seek a hearing on the restraining order renewal, but he argued in court papers that she doesn't have the right to get investigative records while the couple's divorce case is on hold because of the ongoing criminal inquiry.
If the judge allows testimony or orders the release of documents, Engel urged him to grant a protective order preventing public disclosure of the information "to preserve the integrity" of the criminal investigation.
"Mr. Horman does look forward to the day he is able to conduct discovery in this case," Engel wrote. "If Ms. Horman desires to conduct discovery and have a hearing, Mr. Horman invites Ms. Horman to come out of seclusion and submit to her own deposition."
On July 30, the judge will also request an update on the status of the delayed divorce proceedings between Kaine Horman and Terri Horman and the civil lawsuit pending against Terri Horman by Kyron's mother, Desiree Young.

Kyron Horman's mother to drop civil suit in son's disappearance
By Maxine Bernstein, The Oregonian
on July 30, 2013 at 11:27 AM
updated August 03, 2013 at 8:21 AM
Desiree Young has withdrawn her civil suit against the stepmother of her missing son Kyron Horman.
Young, Kyron Horman's mother, had filed the lawsuit against Terri Moulton Horman in Multnomah County Circuit Court last June.
The suit accused Terri Horman of kidnapping the boy and demanded that the court compel Horman to return him or reveal where his body is. It sought $10 million in damages, with the option to seek additional punitive damages.
But in November, a judge delayed the lawsuit until Aug. 1, saying it could affect an ongoing criminal investigation.
Now, after emerging Tuesday morning from a closed-door status hearing before Judge Henry Kantor, Young and her attorney Elden Rosenthal confirmed that they've dropped the civil suit.
"It is with great disappointment that I make this difficult decision'" Young said.
Young spoke out on the steps of the Justice Center, the same site where she announced the filing of the civil suit a year earlier.
But she appealed to Terri Horman: "I cannot tolerate the continued silence."
Kyron Horman hasn't been seen since June 4, 2010, after attending a science fair at Skyline School. Terri Horman told investigators that after attending the science fair with him, she said goodbye and saw the boy walk toward his classroom at 8:45 a.m. The second-grader never made it there, but he wasn't reported missing until the afternoon, after his father, Kaine Horman, and Terri Horman discovered he wasn't aboard the school bus.
Kyron's disappearance prompted the largest search operation in the state's history, but searchers unearthed no evidence of the boy. No arrests have been made in the case.
Each day that goes by without her son is "agonizing torture," Young said. "My heart will not be whole again until you are home.
"I will search the ends of the earth until you are home ... I'm not going away."
Young was eight months pregnant with Kyron when she filed for divorce from Kaine Horman in August 2002. Kyron was born Sept. 9, 2002, and Kaine and Desiree were officially divorced in 2003. But Kaine and Desiree maintained joint custody of Kyron.
Terri Horman is now living with her parents in Roseburg.
When announcing the civil suit a year ago, Rosenthal pledged to use all the tools that are afforded to him in a civil case "to peel away the layers of mystery surrounding Kyron's disappearance.''
For the civil case to proceed, Rosenthal said both parties to it would need to review the criminal investigative file and documents.
"We don't want to do anything to impede the case," Rosenthal said.
Asked if he could have foreseen this a year ago when he filed the civil suit amid the ongoing criminal inquiry, Rosenthal declined comment.
“In order for my lawyers to move forward with the case at this point, it would be necessary for them to seek access to the police criminal investigation files,” Young said. “My lawyers have advised me that the Oregon Public Records Disclosure Law does not provide the release of ongoing police investigation files.”
“I don’t want anything to compromise the ongoing investigation for Kyron,” Young said. “For these reasons, I have instructed my attorneys to dismiss the civil case.”
Because of the statute of limitations, Young could only pursue a civil action in the future against Terri Horman once Kyron is found, Young and her attorney said.
Wearing a Kyron button on her blouse, Young said, "I will find you...It's all I want.''
“I have deep sympathy and compassion for everyone involved,’’ said Peter Bunch, Terri Horman’s lawyer, on Tuesday. “Access to the police investigatory files is important for all parties.''
Bunch took issue with implications by Young and her attorney that Terri Horman’s silence means anything beyond that she’s asserting her constitutional rights.
“The assumption that someone who asserts his or her constitutional rights is guilty, is contrary to our system of government,’’ Bunch said.
In related developments, a restraining order that Kaine Horman had renewed in court last month against Terri Horman for one year will be dismissed as of Thursday.
Terri Horman's lawyers pressed for the first time to contest it this year, and sent subpoenas last month to Kaine Horman and to sheriff's Deputy Bobby O'Donnell, one of the lead investigators into Kyron's disappearance. The subpoenas also sought any investigative documents that may have been provided to Kaine Horman that would support his allegations that Terri Horman "is being investigated by law enforcement for involvement in violent crimes."
Multnomah County prosecutors, the county's attorneys, Kaine Horman's lawyer and O'Donnell moved to quash the subpoenas, arguing that any testimony by investigators or disclosure of evidence would jeopardize the criminal inquiry. DeDe Spicher, Terri Horman's friend, recently testified before a grand jury in the case, according to Rosenthal.
In place of the restraining order, a no-contact order will go into effect between Kaine Horman and Terri Horman as their divorce proceeding proceeds.
"At some point we have to get divorced,'' said Kaine Horman, in an interview later Tuesday. "We can't be left in this state forever.''
Terri Horman's lawyers are expected to file a motion for parenting time to allow Terri Horman to see her daughter, now 4 1/2 -year-old Kiara.
"In my mind, it's too little too late,'' said Kaine Horman, of any effort by Terri Horman to have parenting time with their daughter.
Tuesday afternoon, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office put out a news release, saying the Kyron case remains a "high priority.'' Sheriff Dan Staton has met regularly with Kaine Horman concerning the investigation, and remains in close contact with Desiree Young, the release said.
"While the civil suit was of interest, it did not affect the course of action or goal of the investigation,'' the sheriff's statement said. "We continue to work with our investigative partners and the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office as we maintain the case integrity, development of leads and information gathered through the course of the investigation.''
The sheriff's office also encouraged anyone with information regarding the case to contact its tip line at 503-261-2847.
"All of us still have strong hopes that this is going to be resolved,'' Kaine Horman said.

Attorney: Terri Horman wasn't last person to see Kyron at school

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) - An attorney for Terri Horman, the stepmother of missing Portland boy Kyron Horman, said he can prove she was not the last person to see Kyron at Skyline School in northwest Portland on the day he disappeared.
The attorney spoke in a divorce case hearing for Kaine and Terri Horman on Friday, saying he must clear Terri Horman's name in order to win a custody battle over the estranged couple's young daughter. Their daughter has remained with Kaine Horman since Kyron's disappearance.
Concerns remain about a potential overlap of information with the criminal investigation into Kyron's disappearance and the divorce proceedings between his father and stepmother.
Kyron was 7 years old when he vanished from Skyline School on June 4, 2010. His disappearance prompted the largest search in state history, but he was never found.
No suspect has ever been named in the case, but the investigation centered on Terri Horman.
FOX 12 has a reporter in the courtroom for Friday's motions hearing. It's expected that attorneys will touch on a psychological evaluation for Terri Horman to determine whether she should be allowed to spend time with her daughter.

PORTLAND, Ore. – The landscaper who accused Terri Horman of trying to hire him to kill her husband will be deposed Wednesday, according to sources.
Rudy Sanchez will be questioned by lawyers for Terri Horman as part of the ongoing divorce case between her and her husband, Kaine.
The news of the alleged plot came just weeks after Kaine's son, Kyron, disappeared from Skyline Elementary School in June 2010.
Law enforcement officials believe that Terri, the boy's stepmother, was the last known person to have seen him alive.
When Kaine was informed by law enforcement of the plot against his life, he and the daughter he has with Terri moved out and he got an order of protection.

Terri Horman's lawyer calls for emergency hearing

PORTLAND -- The landscaper who police believe Terri Horman approached in an alleged murder-for-hire plot against her estranged husband Kaine Horman was scheduled for a deposition Wednesday. But the interview was later canceled. Terri Horman's defense lawyer objected to the deposition and requested an emergency hearing to prevent Rudy Sanchez-Estrada from being questioned. No court hearing has been scheduled to discuss the matter. According to court papers obtained by KGW, Kaine's lawyers wanted to question Sanchez-Estrada as part of the ongoing divorce proceedings with Terri Moulton Horman. Related: Hormans battle it out in divorce court Kaine filed for divorce and a restraining order against Terri in late June, 2010. He said police believe his wife had approached the family landscaper offering money if he would kill Kaine. Terri has not been charged in the case. Kaine's son, Kyron Horman, went missing from Skyline Elementary School on June 4, 2010, and investigators said at the time that Terri was the last person to see him before the disappearance. She has also been a focus of the missing person investigation, but never named as a suspect.

The landscaper should have been interviewed years ago; Terri should be in prison for attempting to hire a hit-man; and her lawyer should divulge who the "real" person who saw Kyron at school after Terri is... This woman should not be running around free imo.

This murdering bitch claims to be innocent yet she keeps putting up roadblocks to the truth finding. Why wasn't this man deposed very early on, before Kyron's body decomposed?
Ladibug, you have it all right!!!
I hope no other man with a child has gotten involved with this murderer.

Terri Horman asks court for access to daughter

PORTLAND – Terri Horman is asking the court to allow her to spend time with her 5-year-old daughter, according to court documents obtained by KGW Monday.
Terri Horman is the step-mother of Kyron Horman, a Portland boy who has been missing since 2010. She's been the focus of investigators since the child's disappearance.
Terri Horman was allegedly the last person to see Kyron before he disappeared.
Terri’s husband, Kaine, filed a restraining order against her the month Kyron vanished. The order prevents Terri from contacting their daughter Kiara.
In court documents associated with the divorce case filed Nov. 26, Terri's attorney Peter Bunch said Kaine has shown no evidence that should keep her away from the child and that Terri should have "frequent and continuing contact with Kiara."
Bunch stated in the document that he would present "expert testimony" to assist the case for restoring Terri's parenting access.
A court date is set for Dec.19.

PORTLAND -- A sign posted outside of Terri Horman's home in Roseburg is raising questions. The flier suggests an "unknown man" may be connected to her stepson's disappearance.
The flier title, "Find Kyron First" includes an age progression photo of Kyron Horman and the missing boy's description.
It also includes the following statement: "Kyron Horman was last seen at a public invited Science Fair at Skyline School in Portland OR by witnesses who saw him with an unknown man."
Investigators believe Terri Horman was the last one to see her stepson before he disappeared from Skyline School on June 4, 2010. She has not been charged in the case.
Terri Horman was not available for comment. It's not clear who created the flier.
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office declined to comment on the new flier.
A spokesman said the public should rely on official law enforcement bulletins from the FBI or local police for information about the case.

Kyron Horman's Mother: 'I Will Never Give Up Looking'
BY DANIEL ARKIN
6/4/2014
The mother of Kyron Horman, the Oregon second-grader who mysteriously disappeared from his school exactly four years ago, vowed Wednesday to keep searching for her son.
"As I sit here in the silence of our home, my mind wanders to Kyron," Desiree Young, Kyron's biological mother, said in a post on Facebook. "I need my Kyron home so that I can smile again. I miss him even more today."
Kyron had just attended a science fair at Skyline School near Portland when he vanished without a trace on June 4, 2010. He was 7.
The little boy's disappearance sparked the largest search operation in Oregon's history. And yet authorities haven't found any sign of Kyron and no arrests have been made in the perplexing case.
Young is now promising a private search for Kyron later this month. She thanked people who have donated to Klaas Kids Foundation, a public charity group that will help lead a new round of searching for the boy on June 20, 21 and 22.
"I don't want to be here in another year and certainly not in another four years either," Young said in the post on Facebook. "I pray God look over us and help us have a successful search on the 20th, 21st & 22nd."
Young in June 2012 filed a lawsuit against Kyron's stepmother, Terri Horman, the last person known to have seen the boy.

Kyron Horman's dad gets custody of daughter

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The father of a Portland boy who disappeared four years ago has settled a custody case with a former wife, the last person known to have seen the child alive.
Kyron Horman vanished from school on June 4, 2010, after his stepmother, Terri Horman, brought him there early that day to attend a science fair. The 7-year-old boy never made it to his regular class, but he wasn't reported missing until later that afternoon when he didn't return home on the school bus.
A massive search came up empty, and no arrests have been made. Investigators have long focused on Terri Horman, although they have not named her as a suspect.
In a settlement signed Tuesday, Kaine Horman got custody of 5-year-old Kiara Horman, the daughter he had with Terri Horman.
Kaine Horman filed for divorce about a month after Kyron disappeared and obtained a restraining order that prohibited Terri Horman from having parenting time with Kiara, who was 19 months old at the time. The divorce was finalized Dec. 31, 2013.
The custody settlement made public on the fourth anniversary of Kyron's disappearance allows Terri Horman eventual visits with her daughter.
The process begins with the girl's enrollment in counseling with a developmental specialist who will facilitate the child's relationship with her mother.
The initial contact between Terri Horman and Kiara will be through an exchange of letters and cards. It will then expand to videoconferencing and supervised visits.
"Preliminary maternal contact shall be relatively short and time limited, progressing on to longer duration as warranted by Kiara's response," the agreement states.
The settlement requires Terri Horman to attend parental training and restricts her from going within 150 feet of her ex-husband's house, gym and workplace.
Kaine Horman's attorney, Brett Engel, said his client is pleased with the settlement because it protects Kiara.
Terri Horman's attorney did not return a telephone call seeking comment.
Four years after his son disappeared, Kaine told KATU, while standing in front of his son's Wall of Hope, a chain-link fence lined with supportive messages from the community, that the family still does things like buy new school clothes for Kyron every fall.
"I want to be caught up with him, wherever he's at," Kaine said, "and be in touch with the things that he likes and the kids his age, and what they're doing, and what they're interested in."
Meanwhile, Desiree Young, Kyron's biological mother and Kaine Horman's first wife, said in a Facebook message Wednesday that a private search will be conducted June 20, 21 and 22.
"I will never give up looking for Kyron, I will never stop, and I promise all of my Kyron supporters . I will find my Kyron," she wrote.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — About 100 people were back out searching for Kyron Horman, who was last seen four years ago, on Sauvie Island Saturday.
Horman’s mother, Desiree Young, held a press conference to address the search. She said dozens of volunteers, including 6 or 7 dog teams, looked for her missing son in areas where other dog alerts had previously been reported.
Yound would not say exactly what they found because of the ongoing case but did confirm that search teams continue to find evidence in the case.
Timeline: Kyron Horman case
“We have lots of evidence. We just don’t have that final thing, the final answer. It’s frustrating. It’s not a stranger that walked into Kyron’s school that took him. It was someone in our trusted circle. We know who has the answer, she just refuses to talk,” said Young.
Horman was last seen at Skyline Elementary School four years ago. He was seven when he went missing.
Horman’s then-stepmom, Terri Horman, was the last to see the boy. However, she has never been formally charged or named as a suspect in his disappearance.
Young still encourages people to call 911 if they think they see Horman.

ROSEBURG, OR (KPTV) - Terri Horman's request to change her name to Claire Sullivan has been denied by a judge in Southern Oregon.
She has been linked to the disappearance of Kyron Horman ever since he disappeared from Skyline School on June 4, 2010. Police had said Terri Horman was the last person to see Kyron that day. She was never arrested in that case.
Late last year, Terri and Kaine Horman finalized their divorce, and Kaine Horman was granted legal custody of their 5-year-old daughter six months later.
Terri Horman lives with family in Roseburg. Her full legal name is Terri Lynn Moulton Horman, and her request was to change it to Claire Stella Sullivan.
Throughout Terri Horman's divorce, custody and name change proceedings, the biological mother of Kyron Horman has continued to heap pressure on her. In June, Desiree Young told FOX 12 that Terri Horman failed three lengthy polygraph tests when questioned by investigators about the boy's disappearance.
Young continues to say she will keep putting pressure on Terri Horman by sharing new details in the case, even without the blessing of investigators, in an effort to find her son.
