Re: KYRON HORMAN - 7 yo (2010) - Portland OR - Thread #2
As the search for missing 7-year-old Kyron Horman continues, we are
learning more about DeDe Spicher from her former
boyfriend.
The boy whose smile has captured the hearts of people across the
nation disappeared June 4 after he was dropped off at school. Despite
thousands of tips, what happened to Kyron remains a mystery.
Investigators have focused on the boy's stepmother, Terri Horman, who
dropped Kyron off at school that day. Although she has not been
arrested in connection with any crime, there has been intense scrutiny
on her in the weeks following her stepson's disappearance.
That scrutiny has extended to those in her circle as well, including friend DeDe Spicher, who has staunchly defended Terri.
One of Spicher's former boyfriends, Jason Wishert, spoke about what the woman he once dated is like
and whether he thinks she is somehow connected to Kyron's disappearance.
"She's extremely intelligent," he said. "She's one of the most intelligent women I've ever met."Wishert said when he heard Spicher's name tied to the Kyron Horman
investigation, he felt an immediate obligation to share his information
with detectives.
"I couldn't sleep at all," he said. "I thought of a couple things that investigators should look into. I called the tipline."
Wishert said he met Spicher while they were taking a chemistry class
together at Portland Community College's Rock Creek campus. He said he
got to know her over 10 months and dated her for two months of that
time.
Wishert said Spicher was incredibly accountable to her cell phone, so
reports that she was unreachable at certain times on June 4, the day
Kyron disappeared, do strike him as strange.
"It was so unlike her to not answer her cell phone," he said. "And
then to not account for it. Why would you not account for it if you're
straight up, if you've got nothing to hide?"
When asked whether he knew that Spicher knew Terri, he said no,
saying Terri may have been part of her larger network of friends, not
all of whom he knew.
Wishert said he believes Spicher's loyal nature may have prompted her
to help Terri somehow, but not in a way that would involve harm to a
child, and that Spicher comes from a good family and was raised right.
"If DeDe was involved and if she was involved from the onset, then Kyron Horman is still alive," Wishert said.
"I knew her very, very well," he added. "She never got ugly. I never
saw a mean side to her. I never saw a vindictive side to her."
One of the tips Wishert said he shared with investigators was related
to Spicher's aunt's property, which searchers have already scoured for
clues. The other relates to something he chose not to discuss because he
believes it is an investigative matter still pending.

Kyron Horman grand jury quiet - for now

PORTLAND -- For weeks, a parade of witnesses came and went from the Multnomah County Courthouse.
Kyron Horman's parents testified before a grand jury along with others surrounding the seven year old's disappearance.
Since then, there's been little news from this secret panel.
In addition, a judge's order restricting any photography of witnesses coming and going from the grand jury room has expired.
So does this mean the Grand jury is done? Probably not, said former Multnomah County prosecutor Jim McIntyre.
He said grand jury term can be extended for weeks, months or even years. Jurors are essentially on stand-by as the investigation moves forward.
"It's really not that uncommon with a complex unsolved case to keep the grand jury going and bring them back and bring people back in to testify when you need them or when you develop new evidence or leads," he said.
Kyron Horman disappeared from Northwest Portland's Skyline School on June 4th.
Since then, investigators have sifted through thousands of leads and worked to build a case.
"We still don't have the answer to what happened to Kyron," said McIntyre. "The issue is, what charges are you going to ask the grand jury to return, and then against whom, and I think they are probably still very much sorting that out."

Since Kyron Horman was last seen June 4 at Skyline School, investigators have
focused on one woman in his disappearance — his stepmother, Terri
Moulton Horman.
While never specifically calling her a suspect or even a person of interest, investigators have released fliers
with her picture on it, grilled her friends and searched their homes.
Allegations of a murder-for-hire plot and text messages have turned up
in court documents, buttressing her estranged husband's divorce case.
The 40-year-old woman has all but disappeared, saying nothing publicly
as she retreated to her parents' home in Roseburg where she grew up. A white
sign on the door directs reporters to her lawyer, who declined to
comment for this story.

Thanks Ovie It's a must read IMO. This investigation is so frustrating. Whether TH did it or not I have a real problem believing that anyone helped. I have never, ever heard of a case where another person has helped murder a child or cover it up.(and I'm sure Casey didn't have any either btw). Excluding cases of abusive parents of course which isn't the case here. LE (via Kaine) has stated that they believe TH had help. My intuition tells me that means that there are holes in their timeline of what they believe TH did to Kyron. They have a theory and TH doesn't fit all of it. Her whereabouts have been accounted for when according to their theory she should not have been. To account for that stumbling block they have decided that someone else must be involved. This is quite alarming to me because it shows that they flatly refuse to look at any evidence that points away from TH. Instead they are trying to make it fit even if it's very unlikely that anyone else would be prepared to have anything to do with harming a child.
The other thing I'm bothered about is LE telling Kaine to get out of the house immediately because TH tried to hire someone to kill home 7 months earlier. They obviously have no proof other than this persons word and when they tried a sting TH called 911 which is what an innocent person would do. They have no proof to arrest her. The only thing I have ever read that causes me to suspect TH is her own complaints to Kaine etc that she muffed the LDT's. I'd be interested to know if she has taken another LDT from an independent person arranged by her lawyer and what the outcome of that was.

Hiya cindmo It looks more like she's guilty than innocent, but it wouldn't surprise me if if the investigation eventually takes off in another direction. Re: KYRON HORMAN - 7 yo (2010) - Portland OR - Thread #2
PORTLAND, Ore. - Investigators are a long way from finding out what happened to Kyron Horman, the 7-year-old boy who disappeared 11 weeks ago from his school, according to a well-placed source on Friday.
The source said investigators are gathering new facts everyday but unless some unforeseen bit of evidence appears the investigation will likely take months.
Other recent cases show it can take years to get answers and Jim McIntyre, an attorney and former prosecutor, said the public has a false expectation that cases like this are solved quickly. He said he doesn’t think the Kyron investigation has stalled.
“It may be easy to draw that conclusion, but it’s not a reality,” he said.
McIntyre was a senior member of the Multnomah County District Attorney’s office when the case of David Waldron was concluded.
Waldron agreed to a sentence of six years for the death of his wife Barbara though her body had not been found.
“I did not want to put my family, particularly my children, through the ordeal of a trial,” Waldron said on May 12, 2005.
The Waldrons lived south of Kyron’s school, Skyline School, on Skyline Boulevard. Multnomah searchers at the time combed the same forest where they searched for clues in the Kyron case just two weeks ago.
The Waldron case even involved the same judge who’s now hearing Kaine and Terri Horman’s divorce case.
It took investigators three years to reach a conclusion by showing something must have happened to Barbara because banking and phone records showed no activity.
Cases involving missing children are even more difficult.
“You’re never waiting for just one clue to come through,” McIntyre said. “These things are always a compendium of information where you’re trying to get circumstantial facts and pieces put together that are going to lead you to an ultimate conclusion.
“It could be just as correct that we could go on for a year or two or three or five years or perhaps never, but it’s also, I think, at this point just as feasible that something could break in a very short period of time.”
What is complicating Kyron’s case is there’s no crime scene where investigators can look for evidence left behind.

6 years for a murder isn't enough. I hope this case doesn't have the same ending. Praying they find his body. Sadly, he will be in the same condition as Caylee was when she was found, completely decomposed and no clues.

Harry Oakes-Questions regarding the Kyron Horman Search
Friday, August 20, 2010
Based on information that I’ve gathered in the private search efforts for Kyron Horman.
Can we make any forgoing conclusions? You decide?
Persons involved in this case.
Kaine the birth father
Desiree the birth mother
Kyron an innocent child.
Terri the stepmother.
Dee Dee -Terri’s friend.
FBI.
Mult. Co. Sheriff’s Office - Investigating agency.
Having worked hundreds of missing person cases over the past 25 years, there’s a pattern that develops when I look at the Who, what, when, where, why, and how people come up missing.
When the facts keep screaming two people’s names, eventually someone should listen.
This is what I’ve learned in our private search for Kyron Horman:
June 4th 2010. When Kyron reportedly disappeared, Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office brought in their SAR coordinator and detectives in right away. Very good move. They handled the case like it was supposed to. They initiated a large-scale search to prove or disprove the possibility that Kyron wandered on his own, or with help; out of the school and into the nearby woods.
With the extensive search conducted by MCSO and other agencies, it appears that there’s approximately a 98% chance that Kyron isn’t anywhere near the school and that he didn’t leave on his own and die from exposure to the elements.
MCSO did not put Kyron Horman on the Amber Alert System because he didn’t meet the Amber Alert Protocols. Had MCSO put out an Amber alert, would it have changed the outcome of this case? Probably not, but it could have lead to more witnesses coming forward who saw what happened the day Kyron went missing. Aren’t two million sets of eyes better then 100?
In my opinion, this was by all appearances a very well premeditated thought out planned event by at least two women who knew Kyron, his step mom and her friend.
It is reported that Terri the step mother is involved in the “swinging lifestyle” where consenting adults have sexual relations with a variety of people in an honest and open manner.
This brings up the question of what is the real relationship between Terri and her girlfriend Dee Dee. Friend or lover & partner?
This is relevant because on the day Kyron went missing, neither woman could account for 2 hours of their time and location the day Kyron disappeared. Plenty of time to dispose of a child’s remains.
The media reports that Terri and Dee Dee both bought untraceable disposable cell phones prior to Kyron’s disappearance. Terri and her girlfriend Dee Dee disappear for several hours the day Kyron disappeared.
Kyran Horman was an innocent little 7-year-old child who it appears was at times hated by his step mother Terri.
A parent whose child attended Skyline Elementary school stated that she saw Terri physically and verbally abusing Kyron repeatedly throughout the school year. Terri was seen striking Kyron, grabbing him, and call him names in front of the parents, teachers, and other kids.
Kyron repeatedly told anyone who would listen that his “Step mother is dead”.
Terri would then counter with” He’s talking about his real mother not me”.
It has been reported by parents who were at the Horman residence the day Kyron disappeared to lend their support to the Horman family that Terri removed all of Kyron’s personal belongings from his room and packed them up, and moved her two-year-old daughter’s stuff into Kyron’s room.
I have not been able to confirm this statement.
Was this a well-planned set-up? A week before Kyron disappeared, Terri reportedly went around school talking to families she had never talked to before and asked them to keep an eye out for Kyron as he suffered from seizures and was prone to disappearing.
What I think is wrong with her suggestion, to my knowledge, no medical doctor who has treated Kryon has ever documented Kyron having bouts of seizures. His own birth mother, stepfather, and birth father along with his teachers, friends, never saw Kyron have a seizure or wander off before from information I've received.
Did Terri lie about Kyron’s health? Would it make her look protective and loving asking everyone to keep an eye out for Kyron?.
In my experience, this smells like a set up to a disappearance.
Terri also parks her husband’s Kaine’s pick up on a side road in front of the school so everyone can see the vehicle. Yet according to many parents at the school, Terri never has parked her vehicle there before ever. Why did she choose this day to park there? Was it so many people could see the vehicle there to account for Terri’s where abouts?
Circumstances of Kyrons actual disappearance. It's been reported that the day Kyron disappeared, his birth dad Kaine said good-bye to him and left for work as Kyron prepared to go to school. Kyron’s stepmother states she took Kyron to school. Yet to my knowledge, not one single adult, teacher, or anyone else who knows Kyron saw him at school that day.
The photo of Kyron supposedly taken the June 4th at the science fair, by Terri doesn’t prove he was there on June 4th.
Could that photo have been taken the day before while the projects were being set up?
Look at the shadows and the position of the projects.
Would the shadows from Kyron’s position with the science projects be consistent with the early morning of June 4th or in the afternoon of June 3rd?
Or was this photo (*PHOTO SHOPPED) cut and pasted to make it look like he was there?
See the left side of the photo of Kyron’s body, his right shirtsleeve and arm?
Why is there an outline?
It’s alleged that Terri was seen at a hardware store buying a new shovel and paying cash right before Kyron disappeared
Witnesses reported seeing a woman with red hair driving Terri’s husband’s truck that day on or near Sauvie Island. But, according to reports from the media, Terri denies being on Sauvie Island the day Kyron disappeared.
She states she was out shopping at a variety of stores in a different area all-together. Those stores have security cameras. Is she not on them?
So who was then seen driving Terri’s husbands truck that day on or near Sauvie Island? Also who was seen driving the red mustang that day?
Both Dee Dee and Terri have similar features and red hair.
Was someone driving around Sauvie Island that day to throw searchers and investigators off at Kyron’s real location?
Questions that need answering.
Who really was driving Kaine’s truck all around the NW Roads Dee Dee or Terri?
Who really was driving around Sauvie Island that day? Dee Dee or Terri?
It's reported that Terri the stepmother failed 2 polygraph tests and refused to cooperate with the police investigation after June 28th.
High priced criminal defense attorney hired before accused.
Terri texted Dee Dee that she had paid $350,000.00 for a well-known criminal defense attorney before she was accused of a crime? Where did that money come from?

Death Scent Detected by Search Dogs from I.K.9.S.A.R.S. Why haven’t the police allowed our forensically trained and court room proven search dog teams in onto the Horman or Dee Dee Spicher property?
The search dogs from I.K.9.S.A.R.S. repeatedly indicate a “Death alert” anytime they get near the perimeter of the Horman residence.
When a person is killed, their body fluids seep into the ground. This will hold the death scent like a sponge for quite a long time. So is Kyron buried on or near the Horman property? Or is it just his “Death scent” that leaked out of his body giving off the death alerts? If it’s not his death scent then who died up around the Horman property recently? Has his body been buried on someone else’s property?
Of note, Dee Dee has a tree farm 15 minutes away from the Horman residence. And there’s a lot of remote areas near the school. Dixie Mountain for one
Why haven’t the Horman’s given Harry Oakes and his search dog teams a scent article of Kyron to help in his private search for Kyron? Why haven’t we been allowed on the Horman property? What are they so afraid that we’ll find?
My heart goes out to Kyron Horman and his father, birthmother, and step father.
This whole case is sad. There’s a lot of people asking these very same questions that I’ve raised. Hopefully we’ll learn more soon.
The comments of Harry Oakes SAR Coordinator are in no way accusatory of anyone. These are observations that bring up a lot of questions.
They are made from statements given to me by concerned parents who have volunteered along side our teams in the private search efforts for Kyron Horman.
I’ve also added my observations.
Respectfully Mr. Harry Oakes

Harry Oakes

Search details uncommonly public |Experts
question the
effectiveness and ethics of disclosing certain information

PORTLAND — Law enforcement officials haverefused to publicly discuss the focus of their 11-week
investigation into the disappearance of Kyron Horman, but that hasn’t kept explosive details from dribbling out in the father’s divorce
filings and in regular news conferences called by the missing boy’s parents.
Among the bombshells: Allegations that Kyron’s stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman, tried to hire a hit man to kill her husband, Kaine Horman. Sexting from Terri Horman to Michael Cook, a former high school friend of Kyron’s father, after the boy went missing and her husband filed for divorce. Cell phone text messages between Terri Horman and Cook in which she appears to cite how much her
criminal defense attorney costs.
Several criminal def-ense attorneys say it suggests an orchestrated attempt by law enforcement to steer the investigation
and could hamper the fairness of any future trial. Other legal experts say there’s no Oregon law or ethics rule that prevents it
from occurring.
Yet all agree it’s an unconventional strategy. Law enforcement and prosecutors have a responsibility to share information
with victims and their families concerning ongoing investigations, as well as an obligation to warn someone who might be in danger or is
being threatened.
“And if the families later reveal some of that information publicly, I don’t think the law enforcement officials have done anything wrong,” said professor Tom Lininger, who teaches a University of Oregon Law School course about the legal profession, with lessons on the Model Code of Professional Responsibility and Code of Judicial Ethics.Oregon’s ethics rules for lawyers prohibit prosecutors from making statements about an investigation if they’re likelyto be disseminated widely and be prejudicial, meaning they would make it harder for the accused to get a fair trial, Lininger said. But Oregon’s ethics rules don’t clearly regulate the indirect disclosure of information to the public, via the victim’s family, he said.
Frankly, legal observers say, Kyron’s parents are making public statements that the police cannot.Public plea for cooperation Kaine Horman and Desiree Young have been briefed regularly by Multnomah County sheriff’s investigators and prosecutors since their son went missing June 4 from Skyline School. And they have shared some of what they’ve learned in interviews, at news conferences and in written statements.
They made a public plea for Terri Horman to cooperate with investigators, spoke about Terri’s polygraph exams and results, and also issued a written statement about Terri Horman’s friend DeDe Spicher, saying she had impeded the investigation and urging her to cooperate.
Meanwhile,Kaine Horman’s divorce lawyer, Laura Rackner, filed motions in court, including information that clearly came from law enforcement: Terri Horman’s purported murder-for-hire plot against her husband; her “sexting” messages to Michael Cook; and her text messages appearing to reveal how much her high-profile criminal defense attorney costs.
Disclosure may be a tool Legal observers say it suggests that law enforcement and prosecutors are feeding details to the boy’s parents,
and Kaine Horman’s civil attorney, which they’ve in turn made public to put pressure on those who detectives suspect are involved in the
7-year-old’s disappearance or might have information that could help determine what happened to him.
Margaret Paris, dean of the University of Oregon Law School, says it seems as if the release of certain details through
Kyron’s parents and court filings is a tool police and prosecutors are using to “turn up the heat” on people they believe are
hiding information, or pressuring people to come forward. “It might be a borderline situation, where there isn’t anything that expressly makes it wrong,” Paris said. “But, assuming there’s eventually an indictment and a trial, the question an attorney at that time would likely raise is the fact that there’s been all this stuff leaked that would threaten their client’s ability to get a fair trial.”
Stuart Slotnick, a managing partner in New York for the criminal defense litigation firm Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney and a former prosecutor who works alongside his father and well-known defense attorney Barry Slotnick, said usually law enforcement
closely restricts the flow of information in an ongoing investigation so it doesn’t hamper the inquiry.
“If they have evidence the stepmother was responsible for the disappearance, then they need to make an arrest,” Slotnick said.
“I would say a public relations campaign against a potential target is inappropriate, and likely counterproductive if in fact this is being
orchestrated by the prosecution. If this is in fact happening, to overbear someone with bad press, it’s not a conventional strategy.”
The inclusion of criminal investigative information in the pending Horman divorce case isn’t as unusual, and there are no rules that prohibit
litigants from including such material, Paris said. “Certainly we’ve all read in divorce petitions salacious details that come out of divorce
filings, especially when celebrities are involved.”
But defense attorney John Henry Hingson III says what is unusual here is having a parallel civil proceeding, while there’s an ongoing criminal case. Once Kaine Horman’s lawyer includes material from law enforcement’s investigation in a court filing, you can be sure Terri Horman’s divorce attorney will argue that any police privilege to withhold criminal investigative material has been waived, and he probably
will seek access to it, Hingson said. That doesn’t mean he’ll get it. A family law judge would end up the arbiter of the dispute.
“There’s a risk in-volved,” Hingson said. “What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.”Lewis & Clark Law School professor
Steve Kanter says law enforcement’s principal goal is to find Kyron if he’s alive or solve the crime if he’s not. “I hope that prosecutors and
law enforcement are being extremely careful and strategic about what they’re doing,” Kanter said. “But it’s a dangerous game.

Except Harry Oakes has got a few things wrong and he's using rumors to boost his theory. For one thing they did not get the phones before Kyron went missing. It's pretty shoddy to put out misinformation IMO. Especially when it makes a big difference to the picture.oviedo45 wrote:wow

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Sources tell KGW that the grand jury in the Kyron Horman case met Monday, interviewing representatives from the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement officials.
Sources said the interviews would likely continue through Tuesday and possibly Wednesday.
Prosecutors have been seeking and obtaining subpoenas, and presenting witnesses to the grand jury for many weeks as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Kyron Horman, missing since June 4.
Grand jury proceedings are secret and a judge has barred media from filming witnesses going in or out of the courthouse, but sources tell KGW that Kyron's parents, friends of Terri Horman including DeDe Spicher, and Skyline Elementary school employees have all appeared before the grand jury.

Still No New Home For Kyron's Wall Of Hope
POSTED: 6:45 pm PDT August 23, 2010
UPDATED: 8:09 pm PDT August 23, 2010
PORTLAND, Ore. -- The new home for Kyron Horman's makeshift Wall of Hope is still up in the air, the missing boy's biological mother said Monday.
Desiree Young, who lives in Medford, said family members are looking for a place that's "convenient for everyone."
"We have to think about safety and security, but we're considering all of our options. The response has been tremendous," she said over the phone.
Stuffed animals, cards, poems and balloons began lining the Wall of Hope at Skyline School after the 7-year-old vanished on June 4.
Last week, Kyron's biological father said he wants to move the memorial because he doesn't want to distract students or attract strangers.
Kaine Horman filed for divorce from the boy's stepmother, Terri Horman, about three weeks after the child vanished. He also filed a restraining order against her and was granted custody of their young daughter.
Upcoming Horman Divorce Hearing
Attorneys for Kaine and Terri Horman are expected to attend a hearing on the divorce case at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Kaine Horman said he's unsure if he'll attend and doesn't know if his estranged wife will be there.
At the end of June, Kaine Horman and his lawyer claimed Terri Horman violated the restraining order by showing the then-sealed documents to Michael Cook. Cook, a high school friend of Kaine Horman, is accused in court documents of photographing the papers and having a sexual relationship with Terri Horman.
A court date is scheduled for Sept. 21 to address a possible restraining order violation.
Kaine Horman's attorneys also demanded to know how Terri Horman paid $350,000 for Stephen Houze, her lawyer, according to court records. If the money came from assets the couple shared, Kaine Horman said he wants half.
In July, Terri Horman's divorce lawyer filed papers asking to abate the case because of media scrutiny.

Kyron grand jury could continue for months
PORTLAND -- A Multnomah County grand jury investigating the disappearance of Kyron Horman could continue for months, according to information from the presiding judge.
KGW has learned that Judge Jean Kerr Maurer issued an order from
August 20th through October 29th restricting any audio or visual

Detectives get 3,700 tips in Kyron Horman case; stepmother Terri Moulton Horman still in Roseburg
Published: Tuesday, August 24, 2010, 7:23 PM Updated: Tuesday, August 24, 2010, 7:23 PM
Multnomah County investigators continue to check out a mountain of tips
in the disappearance of Kyron Horman.
Since the 7-year-old was last seen at Skyline School in Northwest Portland on June 4, the
Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office has received 3,700 tips from the community that detectives are checking out.
Deputy Jon Alfano, an agency spokesman, said dogs and officials are available if detectives need them in the field to search specific areas. No large-scale search is under way at the moment, he said. No arrests have been made in Kyron’s disappearance and no suspects or even a person or persons of interest have been named, but the investigation is focused on Terri Moulton Horman, Kyron’s stepmother,
who has retreated to her parent’s home in Roseburg. Her son, James, told The Oregonian that she no longer has a computer or cell phone and has been told by her lawyer, Stephen Houze, to stay out of public view.
At the beginning of the month, detectives searched a loop of NorthwestOld Germantown Road where Horman’s friend DeDe Spicher was
gardening June 4. Investigators had planned another search of the area.
Horman’s friends and associates have been called before a grand jury, which this week is hearing testimony from law enforcement.
Anyone with information about Kyron’s disappearance should call the tipline at

All great ideas' for Wall of Hope relocation
PORTLAND, Ore. – Skyline's K-8 school opened its office for the
2010-11 school year Monday, yet outside the school the monument still
stands for missing student Kyron Horman.
It's just two weeks away from the first day back for Skyline elementary
students. And the creator of Kyron's Wall of Hope is no closer to
finding a new home for the mementos on the school's fence that have
taken on a life of their own.
"We really don't have anything yet, that's what it comes down to,"
Wall of Hope creator Amber Schaecher told us on Tuesday. "We've looked
into a couple of options, but for various reasons they just didn't work
out."
Why the move?
The move comes after Kyron's father, Kaine
Horman, announced on Aug. 16 that he, the Portland Public School
District and the creator of the wall believe a relocation is the best
thing for school safety once classes begin.
"There are a lot of people who go up to the wall everyday," Kaine told Investigative Reporter Dan Tilkin at the time, "and
when school starts I don't think that having a lot of new faces, new
adults, on the school property – with kids in school – really helps
with school security."
This comes as the Portland Public Schools administration bars media use
of school grounds with this note sent out Monday: "To provide as
welcoming an environment as possible, media are asked to no longer use
the school parking lot."
Meanwhile, wall organizers worry the cards, flowers, stuffed animals
and other items outside Skyline Elementary would be an emotional
distraction for the young students returning for the new year.
Still looking for new locations
The creator of the Wall of Hope put out the call, one week ago, to our
visitors for ideas on where to move the wall's contents. She said the
e-mails she received are "all great ideas, and we've looked into and
explored some of those ideas."
She said some good ideas they have checked out aren't close enough to
the Skyline community. Others aren't easily accessible or won't have
enough parking.
Now, she said, "we're trying to look at some private property
locations."
"It would still be great if people would continue to e-mail me ideas
since we do not have a location [yet] picked out," Schaecher said. "We
definitely appreciate the community's response to this, because – after
all – this is the community's gift to the family and to Kyron."
Skyline School's first day for students is Sept. 7, the day after the
Labor Day holiday. According to the missing-child poster created by the National Center
for Missing & Exploited Children, Kyron Horman's birthday is two
days later, Sept. 9. He will be turning 8 years old.

I commend this Skyline school for jumping on the safety issues. Sophia's school has 10 ladies to assist children out of cars and walking. They stand ouside until every last child is in school and then the gate is locked. Anyone after this can only get in through the office. There is no other way into or out of the school except for fire exits which are alarmed.
I thanked these ladies yesterday for keeping our children safe. God bless them.
God is blessing you Kyron

PORTLAND – Kaine Horman and his estranged wife, Terri Moulton Horman were scheduled to
appear in court Wednesday as part of their divorce proceedings.
Terri, the last person to see seven-year-old Kyron Horman before he
vanished, wants the divorce delayed until after the criminal
investigation into his disappearance is completed.
However, Kaine’s attorney continues to push forward and also wants
Terri to be forced to disclose where she’s getting the money to cover
her mounting legal bills.
Meanwhile, the Multnomah County Sheriff said over 3,700 tips have
come in to detectives and they’re following up on all of them. Terri has
been a prime focus on the investigation, although police have never
named her as a suspect or a person of interest.

Missing 7-year-old's stepmother appears in court
The stepmother of a missing 7-year-old boy made
a rare public appearance Wednesday when she attended a hearing in the
divorce proceedings between her and the boy's father.
By STEVEN DUBOIS
PORTLAND — The stepmother of a missing 7-year-old boy made a
rare public appearance Wednesday when she attended a hearing in the
divorce proceedings between her and the boy's father.
Terri Horman, who is living with her parents in Roseburg, declined to
speak with reporters before or after the hearing at a Multnomah County
courthouse. Her husband, Kaine Horman, did not attend the hearing.
Terri Horman took Kyron Horman to school on June 4, the day he
vanished, and was the last known person to see him. The disappearance
prompted the largest search in Oregon's history.
Kaine Horman filed for divorce weeks later, saying investigators gave
him reason to believe that Terri Horman was involved in the
disappearance. The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office has not publicly
named her as a suspect or person of interest.
Wednesday's court hearing was largely procedural, with Judge Keith
Meisenheimer setting a date for when two motions will be heard. One
motion was requested by Terri Horman to delay divorce proceedings until
the Kyron investigation is resolved.
Her divorce attorney said she is a "de facto" suspect, and therefore
the focus, in the investigation of the boy's disappearance, making her
"unable to proceed in the ordinary course to protect her rights as to
discovery, property division, support and, particularly, custody and
parenting time issues."
The couple's daughter, 21-month-old Kiara, currently is under the custody of Kaine Horman.
In the other motion, Kaine Horman seeks to have Terri Horman help pay
his attorney fees. Laura Rackner, Kaine's lawyer, told the judge her
client does not have unlimited savings and noted that Terri Horman was
able to spend a reported $350,000 to retain the high-profile defense
attorney Stephen Houze.
Bunch, Terri Horman's divorce lawyer, called the $350,000 figure
inaccurate. He suggested the money came from a third party, and it will
have to be determined whether it counts as a marital asset.
The judge set an Oct. 7 hearing for both matters.http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2012723737_missingboy26.html
