The BENSON Twin Boys - 8 yo - Tulsa OK

A mother and father are behind bars after deputies say they found two little boys severely beaten inside their home. Investigators say it's one of the worst child abuse cases they have seen in some time.

28-year-old Precious Benson is in jail on $600,000 bond, facing several child abuse charges. 37-year-old Jerry Benson is in jail on roughly a million dollars bond, facing numerous drug-related charges on top of child abuse charges.

Authorities with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says they arrested Jerry Benson outside his East Tulsa home after undercover deputies with the Drug Task Force made numerous drug buys from him.Kahliah Gray grew up across the street from the Benson's house, and said she's shocked to hear about what happened in her neighborhood."I'm very surprised that something like this would happen in my neighborhood," Gray said. "It never used to be like this."According to the arrest report, after deputies arrested Jerry Benson on the drug charges they went inside the house to execute a search warrant. Inside they found two eight-year-old boys badly beaten with "significant bruising and swelling on their faces.""I would see the boys outside playing sometimes, but I never would have thought that they were beaten like that," Gray said. "I'm really shocked."Precious Benson is charged with two counts of child neglect and two counts of enabling child abuse by injury. On top of the numerous charges Jerry Benson faces for allegedly selling crystal meth, he is also charged with two counts of child abuse by injury and two counts of child neglect."[they were] just the kind of people if you're riding down the street, or if you're walking down the street and they happened to be outside [they would] just say 'hi, how you doin',' and just really nice people," Gray said. "If something was going on the wife would come check on you, see if you're OK."Gray says the whole situation, from the abuse to the drug dealing, is disappointing for the neighborhood."It was a great place. You could even come out at midnight and sit outside and just hear the crickets, and be safe. And now it seems like you can't even be outside in broad daylight and be safe."According to the arrest report, one of the boys was so badly beaten he had to be taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Deputies say both boys were placed in protective custody.

I am writing you because yesterday a Tulsa County judge ruled that a
woman that was charged with 2 counts of child neglect and 2 counts of
enabling child abuse, was sentenced to time served (about 3 1/2 mths) a
suspended 15 yr sentence and probation.

This crime that she was
involved with has been said, by TPD and medical personal, to be one the
worst cases they have ever seen. It involved two eight yr old little
boys, who were locked in a room, allowed to abused by father
(stepfather) daily. One of the boys was hospitalized after being
discovered, with multiple facial trauma, broken jaw, and broken ribs.
The boys were subjected to daily beatings, both with fists and
electrical cords, while their mother, Precious Benson, witnessed. Yet
she did nothing to protect them and failed to get them the medical
treatment they needed. The boys have scaring covering their torso's,
where "chucks of their skin was taken out" while being beat with
electrical cord, whips, and belts. These beating occured almost daily
for at least a year. Yet their mother did nothing. Their face is still
swollen, even 4mths after being removed, from the multiple beatings
their father Jerry Benson did with his fists. Endured Daily emotional
and verbal abuse by this person, such as making one boy wear a diaper,
calling him a baby, the other called "a fag" made to wear a purse
around...yet their mother did nothing. Jerry Benson would call over his
drug buddies to come over and watch as he made the boys entertain them
by making them fist fight each other, like they were dogs. Mom claimed
to not have known about. The boys were forced to perform sexual acts
with each other and other sibling...yet Precious didn't stop it. She
claims that Jerry had to do those awful things to the kids or that drug
cartel would have killed them... yet she astonishily escaped injury
herself. She claims she was to "scared for her life to leave", yet when
DHS workers investigated allegations of abuse, took the kids to another
state....only to return back to this abuser. The kids were prisoners
in this house of terror, not even allowed to go to school, no one knew
about the happening within this house except the abuser and mother.
They had no one to help them because the only person that whose duty was
to protect them, failed them. Yet she is free on probation, while the
boys suffer and will continue to deal with this abuse for the rest of
their lives. Other Parents, Coaches, Teachers tried to save these boys
by reporting their injuries to DHS, but their own mother would not help
them. It is unimaginable that anyone in their right mind would let this
woman off so lightly, especially a judge...its a terrible Injustice!!
I'm writing this to you asking for the media's and public's help to shed
light to their story and with hopes that maybe someone will force this
judge to reconsider his decision or his ruling would be overturned.

We
all know that it is the duty of the parent to protect his or her
children in anyway possible...but somehow Precious Benson thought she
didn't have to. Not once did family, friends and co-workers of Precious
Benson see her with black eyes...when she did receive an injury from
her husband, instead of using it as a chance to escape, she lied and
said it happened when she got into a fight at walmart with another
women. She never used the times when DHS came to the house, as a chance
to save her children. She was alone with the kids on multiple
occasions and never asked anyone for help or used it as an opportunity
to run from this abuser, she stayed while her children were screaming in
pain from beatings and did nothing.... I think she deserves to take
responsibility for her actions, or in this case her inactions.
