The boyfriend of a woman accused of abusing her infant son pleaded guilty Monday to obstructing justice, a felony, and misdemeanor child endangering.
Stark County Common Pleas Judge Charles E. Brown Jr. is scheduled to sentence Brian E. Carpenter Jr., 23, of 1222 Plain Ave. NE, at a later date.
The boy’s mother, Ashley D. Costello, 22, of 1206 Dueber Ave. SW, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of felony child endangering.
Costello’s 7-week-old son was admitted to Akron Children's Hospital on July 26 with injuries, including bleeding on the brain, rib fractures and bruising to his buttocks.
