CHRISTOPHER CORY CARIOSCIA - 17 yo(2010) - El Capitan (N of El Cajon) CA
Investigators found an unidentified male body in a remote part of the Barona Indian Reservation, the Sheriff’s Department said Sunday. The discovery of the body on Saturday came as detectives scoured the reservation for Christopher Cory Carioscia, 17, an El Capitan High School student. On Sunday, as news trickled out from the investigation, family members came to the reluctant conclusion that Christopher had been found. The case is being investigated as a homicide. "They pretty much identified him from his jewelry -- a watch and jewelry," said an aunt, Elizabeth Carioscia of Lombard, Ill., during a phone interview Sunday.Mickey Carioscia, the boy's grandfather and a La Jolla resident, said he had a phone call from the boy's father shortly after midnight Sunday.“He told me that police had found his body in a canyon,” Mickey Carioscia said.
Christopher had been missing almost six weeks. On Oct. 26, he told family members that he intended to go surfing in Pacific Beach. An entry on the Missing and Exploited Children’s website says he was last seen more outside the Barona Casino, more than 30 miles from Pacific Beach, about 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 27.His burned car was found that day on the Barona reservation.“He was a terrific kid,” said Mickey Carioscia in a telephone interview Sunday. They met about once a month for lunch and, the elder Carioscia said, “we always had a pretty good time.”When Christopher went missing in October, his grandfather held out hope that the teen merely had run away from home. But when a week passed and he hadn’t heard from his grandson, Mickey Carioscia began to despair.Christopher was described as white, 5-foot-10, 130 pounds, with brown eyes and hair. He had pierced ears and several tattoos. Relatives said Christopher has had some drug problems in the past. He also lives only with his mother, they said.Dennis Brugos, a lieutenant with the Sheriff's homicide unit, said last month that some of the people Christopher associated with may have been involved in narcotics. The remains have been taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and an autopsy scheduled for Monday. Christopher's 18th birthday would have been Monday. "On his birthday, he's having an autopsy," said his aunt. "This is the worst day ever for his family."

A Lakeside teen found dead on the Barona Reservation in October was laid to rest at an El Cajon cemetery Wednesday.Christopher Carioscia, a 17-year-old student at El Capitan High School in Lakeside, was reported missing by his family on Oct. 26. His car was found the next day, which authorities said had been intentionally set on fire and left in a remote part of the Barona Reservation. Carioscia's body was found 6 weeks later.Family friend Richard Gonzales was with Carioscia at the Barona Casino the night he disappeared. During an interview with a sheriff's deputy, Gonzales said the investigator told him they recovered DNA evidence under Carioscia's fingernails and that he'd been shot to death.
"He was shot once, but he fought; they said he fought for his life", said Gonzales.Gonzales said Carioscia was supposed to meet up with him after he left the casino. However, Gonzales said Carioscia mentioned needing to see someone before he left the reservation. Friends believe Carioscia was involved in a drug deal that went bad and that it may have led to his death."My gut and everything I feel is that who he went to meet he met with his demise," Gonzales said.Carioscia's mother, Monica Pyskata, said she just wants justice for her son."Whoever did this is going to be caught and pay for it because he was 17 years old and he did not deserve it for any reason," said Pyskata.

Man Accused Of Killiing Teen On Reservation To Be Arraigned
Stanley Lloyd Jr. Accused Of Killing Christopher Carioscia, 17
March 8, 2011
SAN DIEGO -- Arraignment is scheduled Tuesday for a 19-year-old East County man accused of fatally shooting a former El Capitan High School student on the Barona Indian Reservation last fall.
Homicide detectives arrested Stanley Virgil Lloyd Jr. at his Lakeside home on Quincy Canyon Road about 6:30 a.m. Friday in connection with the slaying of 17-year-old Christopher Carioscia, sheriff's Sgt. Dave Nemeth said.
The teen disappeared Oct. 26, after telling his family he was going surfing in Pacific Beach. The next day, his burned-out car was found on the tribal grounds south of Ramona. On Dec. 4, detectives found his body near San Vicente Reservoir.
An autopsy showed someone shot him with .357-caliber pistol, most likely a revolver. A plastic bag containing the type of bullets that killed the teen was found near near where his body was discovered.
The sergeant disclosed no relationship between the victim and suspect, nor did he reveal a possible motive for the slaying.
According to court records obtained by the San Diego Union-Tribune, Lloyd pleaded guilty in January to a misdemeanor charge for accidentally shooting a woman in the legs with a shotgun at his cousin's house a year earlier.
