While playing outside with friends, local girl's life changed forever

SAN ANTONIO -- She was playing outside with friends when life for a 7-year-old girl changed forever.

She was grabbed by a man and later assaulted. Police have a suspect in custody. The said every time the little girl would yell for help, the attacker responded by punching her in the face.

Investigators tell us 23-year-old Fernando Flores-Miranda is the man responsible for the abuse. He's been arrested and faces charges for aggravated sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping and resisting arrest.

San Antonio police said they got the call about a missing girl around 7:30 p.m. Monday at an apartment complex in the 2400 block of Pinn Road.

Miranda kidnapped the seven-year-old victim while she was playing outside with friends, police said. He then reportedly took her to a vacant apartment.

The suspect, who is also a Mexican national, allegedly punched the girl in the face several times and sexually assaulted her

Police found the child before 10 last night. She was then reunited with her family. It's unclear how long Miranda has been in the States.

His bond has been set at just under $220,000.

SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio police have arrested a 23-year-old man, accusing him of abducting and assaulting a 7-year-old girl.Fernando Flores-Miranda faced a judge early Tuesday morning who formally charged him with crimes against a child.According to SAPD, investigators received a call about a missing girl at a west-side apartment complex in the 2400 block of Pinn Road around 7:30 p.m.Police say the victim was playing outside with friends when they were all reportedly called inside. That's when Miranda allegedly kidnapped the girl and took her into a nearby vacant apartment.The 23-year-old suspect, who is a Mexican national, reportedly beat the girl in the face and held her there for a couple of hours.SAPD investigators finally discovered the child before 10 p.m. Monday evening.She was reunited with her family and has been going through questioning as well as treatment at a local hospital.Miranda faces charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault and resisting arrest. His bonds total more than $200,000.
