DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Police in Daytona Beach were searching for a missing teenager on Tuesday.

Investigators said Freshlyn Maddox, 14, disappeared on Friday. She was last seen on Aberdeen Street at about noon.Authorities
said Maddox has never run away from home before, but she had stated
that she no longer wanted to stay with her father.Maddox is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.Anyone with information about Maddox's whereabouts should contact the Daytona Beach Police Department at 386-671-5223.

DAYTONA BEACH - A 14-year-old girl known in her family as a quiet
homebody, has been missing since Friday, police and the child's father
said this evening.
Freshlyn Maddox, an eighth-grader at Campbell Middle School,
quarreled with her mother on Friday afternoon and was taken to her
father's residence after she broke a few items at her mother's house on
Iowa Street, police said.
Eddie Maddox said he tried to sit down and talk to his daughter but she was not amenable to a conversation.
"I turned around and she walked out the door and we haven't seen her since Friday," Eddie Maddox said.
Daytona Beach police have classified Freshlyn as endangered even
though they do not suspect foul play. She has never run away from home
before, police and her father said.
Her mother, Carolyn Maddox, said she's worried because her daughter,
who is bipolar, left her medications behind when she took off Friday
afternoon.
He and other family members have searched friends' houses but no one has seen the teen.
Freshlyn is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 115 pounds. She has
brown eyes and black, medium length hair, which was braided.

DAYTONA BEACH -- A 14-year-old girl who was missing for a week turned up Christmas Eve at a homeless shelter, police said.
Freshlyn Maddox, who disappeared from her father's house on Dec. 17,
was at the STAR Family Shelter on Seagrave Street when police caught up
with her about 7 p.m. Friday, said Volusia County Sheriff's Sgt. T.
Richard.
She briefly ran from Daytona Beach police officers who approached her, Richard said.
Before Freshlyn disappeared, police had taken her to her father's
house on Aberdeen Street because of an argument at her mother's,
according to a police report.
Freshlyn left without her medication for bipolar disorder, her mother said.
