"Newborn John" BRADLEY - 7 Weeks - Smith Station (NW of Columbus GA) AL
On December 18, 2010, at approximately 8:50 PM/CST, Adam James Bradley, 22, of Smith Station, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff's Office on one count of Aggravated Child Abuse. Aggravated Child Abuse is a Class B felony. He was placed in the Lee County Detention Facility but has since been released on a ($10,000.00) ten thousand dollar bond.
On December 18, 2010, at approximately 3:00 AM/CST, the Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to a possible attempted drug overdose at a residence in the 6000 block of Lee Road 240 Smith Station, AL. Adam James Bradley was transported to Columbus Regional Medical for treatment. Bradley was later released from the hospital.
On December 18, 2010, at approximately 4:00 PM/CST, the Lee County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Columbus Regional Medical Center who was reporting a possible child abuse which had occurred at a residence located on Lee Road 240 in Smith Station,
AL. According to the report, a seven week old baby boy had been
brought into the hospital and was suffering from a fractured rib,
bruised lung, and fractured right leg. According to the hospital
medical staff the infant's injuries are consistent with child abuse.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Human Resources
(DHR) conducted a joint investigation into this reported case of child
abuse. The investigation revealed that the infant's biological father
Adam James Bradley was caring for the child during the time of the of
the alleged assault shortly before the discovery of the injuries.
The seven week old child's injuries are considered non-life
threatening and the child has been treated and released from the
hospital. The infant is currently in the care of the mother.
