If Hailey turns up dead, they will know where to find them.

I hadn't considered that she may have run away. I pray she did, but my instincts tell me they murdered her playing out one of their sicko fantasies.

A grand jury is meant to be part of the system of checks and balances,
preventing a case from going to trial on a prosecutor's bare word. A
prosecutor must convince the grand jury, an impartial panel of ordinary
citizens, that there exists reasonable suspicion, probable cause, or a prima facie (legally sufficient) case that a crime has been committed. The grand jury can compel witnesses to testify before them. he will never look at another missing child depicted on a poster in a
grocery store in the same way.Hailey Dunn's father, Clinton Dunn,
made the 225-mile trip east to Mansfield from Colorado City to tell
supporters of an anti-human-trafficking group that authorities wasted a
week while they investigated his daughter's disappearance as if she had
run away.Traffick911 held the anti-trafficking rally Sunday after postponing an event the day before Super Bowl XLV.Billie
Dunn, the missing 13-year-old girl's mother, was also scheduled to
speak at the rally. But she canceled after reports that more than

Why No Arrests After Child Porn Was Found In Dunn Residence? Authorities Respond

ABILENE, Texas -- Many are asking where are the charges or arrests to reflect the child pornography found in the home of missing teen Hailey Dunn.KTXS
caught up with Hailey's mom Billie Jean today at the home where
investigators removed a memory stick containing 300 pornographic
pictures some of those children, and yet no one has faced any charges
and she's free to come-and-go as she pleases.Her daughter 13-year-old Hailey Dunn was last seen at the same home more than two months ago and hasn't been seen since.Child pornography was also found in Big Spring in the home of Shawn Adkins' mother. Shawn is Billie Jean's boyfriend.Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs met with KTXS today to explain why no arrests have been made in both cases."You
have more than one person in the home in each case," Sheriff Toombs
said, "So you have to make sure and verify who is going to be the one
responsible."Sheriff Toombs says this will be decided by a grand
jury and for February the grand jury met the 17th more than a week
before the child pornography was brought to light last Friday.

Missing for more than two months, the search for Colorado City teen
Hailey Dunn got more help Saturday when a couple dozen Fort Hood
soldiers joined the search.“We are very grateful for them,” Kristy Lloyd, search coordinator said.Searcher Bill Markuans agreed. “It's an extreme amount of help to have them out there."Search
teams have been busy looking for Hailey since she disappeared more than
two months ago from her home in Colorado City. Saturday, searchers said
they are thankful to have the help and expertise of trained military
professionals.“We were trained by professionals, but we are not
experts so anything that they have to add to us that will help us will
be awesome,” Lloyd urged.“In the short time that I’ve been with
them, they've already taught me a couple of things,” Markuans stressed.
“They do bring that experience by being trained by the army also."The soldiers wanted KTXS News to remind everyone they are not here as a unit, but simply as concerned volunteers.“They're
doing this out of the kindness of their heart,” Markuans said. “They're
not looking for any special attention or anything like that and they're
being very, very humble and they just want to help us in any way that
they can.Lloyd told KTXS News the soldiers were struck by
Hailey's story and wanted to help in any way possible, so they made the
230 mile trip from Fort Hood to Colorado City to help look for the
missing teen.“That was an answer to our prayers, so we got a lot
more searchers today to assist to the searchers that have been showing
up," Markuans explained.The soldiers' help will have lasting
effects. Markuans said he will take things he has learned from the
soldiers and use them in future searches.The search group will
get together again Friday and Saturday at 9 AM to continue looking for
Hailey. The “Hailey Search” headquarters is on Walnut Street in Colorado
City.

Hailey Dunn is the 13-year-old Colorado City, Texas
teen who vanished Dec. 27 and was reported missing the next day. On
Friday her mother's then livein boyfriend, and only suspect in the case,
Shawn Adkins, participated in an online Blog Talk Radio interview on
the Bring Them Home show.
The hosts of the show, Rachel Engelhart and Bee Herz, highlight
missing persons cases, both current and cold cases. They encourage

HOST: Shawn, welcome. I want to thank you so much
for being on the show. I know that this was not an easy choice for you
to make and I know this was difficult for you. So I want to first thank
you for agreeing to be on the show and agreeing to let everyone hear
some of the questions that we’re going to be asking you this evening. So
I want to commend you for that starting off.
I want to start off, Shawn, by something a little unconventional.
And, that is, I want to start talking about your childhood. OK?
SHAWN ADKINS: OK.
HOST: First of all – where were you born? Where did you grow up?
SHAWN ADKINS: OK. I was born in
Abilene, Texas, on Dyess Air Force Base and I grew up in Dunn, Texas
most of my life. I went to school in Snyder up until I graduated in
2003.
HOST: OK, and when you were a kid, when you were young, what did you like to do for fun?
SHAWN ADKINS: When I was a kid I was really close to
my grandparents and my grandparents loved to travel and they got me
into it too. I loved traveling with them. My grandfather would take me
fishing quite a bit and my grandma would take me to the mall and take me
sightseeing whenever they went somewhere. Just all kinds of things, it
was really awesome.
HOST: Now did they primarily raise you or …
SHAWN ADKINS: My mom and them primarily raised me.
My mother and father, they didn’t get married until I was like 7 or 8
and I never knew my father until I was around 7 years old.
HOST: What was your mom like? (Long pause, appears Shawn didn’t hear the question.)
SHAWN ADKINS: Well, for one thing growing up without
a father for 7 years, you know, I didn’t have him around and I realized
how wonderful my mom was and she was always there when I needed her.
She would do anything in the world for me. I couldn’t have asked for a
better mother.
HOST: What is your favorite memory of your mom?
SHAWN ADKINS: Favorite memory of her - probably when she took me for the first day of kindergarten.
HOST: Why was that your favorite?
SHAWN ADKINS: Because she knew I didn’t want her to
leave and she stayed there, you know, until I felt comfortable enough
for her to go. I was pretty much attached to her hip. You know, I was
really close to her. And you know, that was really sweet of her to do
that because I was scared and didn’t know what to expect. She stayed
there with me for a long time.
HOST: What’s your favorite memory of your father?
SHAWN ADKINS: Hmm… I’d have to say when I first met
him, cuz even though he wasn’t around, I always wanted to know who my
father was, what was my father like, what did he look like, and when I
met him I just fell in love with him right off the bat and I knew that
was my dad.
HOST: What’s the worst memory of your father?
SHAWN ADKINS: The worst memory of my father was when
he came to me, I was probably 10 years old, and he told me that my mom
and him was gonna get a divorce. He told me that they just can’t get
along and it broke my heart. And I still live with that this very day.
HOST: What are you afraid of, just in life – you know, like growing up – what are you afraid of?
SHAWN ADKINS: Hmm ...I’m just afraid of failing, you
know, because I’ve done it a few times already and I don’t want to
continue to fail. I want to be able to be more stable. I just want
everything to work out for me, I’m just scared of everything falling
apart.
HOST: Describe a time when you failed in life.
SHAWN ADKINS: Hmm … well, for instance, with my
relationship with Billie. I feel like I have failed that and then we
overcame that problem and we’d been pretty strong ever since, even
through the time we’re going through now. I was really terrified that
when it happened I wasn't being the best boyfriend I could to her and I
failed.
HOST: Shawn, what did they find on the computer?
SHAWN ADKINS: What?
HOST: What did they find on the computer?
SHAWN ADKINS: OK, I was told that they found child
pornography, bestiality on my mother’s computer, and then I also heard
it on the news that they found child pornography on this memory stick.
And then I just found out today that in the afternoon nationally, they
were telling everyone there was child porn on that memory stick. There
was none on there whatsoever. I found this out today.
As far as my mom’s computer, I found out there was child pornography
and bestiality on there and it came to me as a total shock. I couldn’t
believe it, you know, I’m still having a hard time believing it.
HOST: Who has access to that computer?
SHAWN ADKINS: There’s a million people. I’m saying there’s 10 plus people who have access to that computer. A bunch of people have.
HOST: What was on that memory stick?
SHAWN ADKINS: To my knowledge just pictures that I
took on there of me and Billie, family photos, and other things from the
internet that I got from websites and stuff. You know, nothing illegal.
HOST: Billie stated last night that it was of you and her, and then of you and another girl.
SHAWN ADKINS: Uh, might have been.
HOST: OK. Can you describe Billie to us?
SHAWN ADKINS: Billie … well, what can I say … Billie
has a very caring personality. She’s a wonderful mother, has an awesome
sense of humor and she’s always been here for me. No matter if I was
right or wrong, I know I’ll never find another woman like her. And she’s
just the most wonderful person I know. I’m glad that God allowed us to
be in each other’s lives.
HOST: Do you know where Hailey is?
SHAWN ADKINS: No I don’t.
HOST: Can you describe Hailey to me?
SHAWN ADKINS: She is very smart, athletic. She
absolutely loves her family, especially her brother David. That’s her
role model. She also has a great sense of humor. She likes to – she
farts on me, we have fartin' contests, she knows I’m scared of
grasshoppers and she chases me around with grasshoppers – she has a
really good sense of humor.
And I could see her getting really far in life and being successful.
HOST: How did you say you found this out this afternoon about the computer? I’m confused about that.
SHAWN ADKINS: Oh, how I found out about the computer and the memory stick?
HOST: Yes.
SHAWN ADKINS: I heard that from somebody I know.
HOST: From who?
SHAWN ADKINS: I heard that from Billie.
HOST: OK, when was the last time you’ve seen Billie?
SHAWN ADKINS: Um, I seen her this morning.
HOST: OK. Where did you see Billie?
SHAWN ADKINS: I seen her over at her house. I had to go over there and pick up a few things that belongs to me.
HOST: I want to go into a couple of things. I’ve
seen some very interesting movies with you in them. And there’s movie
called, I believe it’s called, “The Slasher” that you produced. Tell me about The Slasher in detail (Click here for Slasher video - Warning: Disturbing content.)
SHAWN ADKINS: Hmmm…. Actually I’m not the one that
made it. Uh, a family member of mine did and we just did that video as
to how – it was for the sole purpose of doing it for the season of
Halloween. My cousin, who made the videos, he just makes a lot of
videos. He has a lot of videos on You Tube.
HOST: Are you speaking of Corey?
SHAWN ADKINS: Yeah.
HOST: Can you tell me who the little girl was in the movie?
SHAWN ADKINS: I really couldn’t tell you unless I seen it.
HOST: Can you tell me who was shooting that video?
SHAWN ADKINS: I really couldn’t tell you either
because those were made like four or five years ago. To my knowledge it
was probably … if y’all seen me for a few seconds it was probably Corey
filming it.
HOST: What is your infatuation with this rubber scary mask?
SHAWN ADKINS: The whole ordeal with my mask was,
some people come to find out I like horror movie memorabilia. It’s not
really a fascination, it’s just a hobby that I do. I don’t really have
an extensive collection, I have like three masks that I had on display,
just to look at. I don’t go around the house wearing them all day long. I
don’t go out in public in them. It’s just simply there for display to
look at.
And I also have a horror movie collection. I like horror movies as
much as I like comedies. I have a lot of movies of both genres. I don’t
see a difference in me collecting that stuff and other people collecting
stuff about John Wayne or Star Wars, or Bruce Lee, there’s no
difference whatsoever.
HOST: Right. Now in The Slasher, at the end it says it was produced by Shawn Adkins …
SHAWN ADKINS: Uh, huh.
HOST: And it had Corey. And what I found interesting is it said Billie Dunn.
SHAWN ADKINS: Uh huh.
HOST: So, was Billie present to produce that movie?
SHAWN ADKINS: Um, not that I can remember. But I
highly doubt she was. She wasn’t really a part those videos very much –
she might have been in about two or three of them. That’s about it.
HOST: Like two or three – what do you mean?
SHAWN ADKINS: The videos that me and Corey made.
HOST: What type of movies, or videos did you and Corey make other than the Slasher movie?
SHAWN ADKINS: Other ones too. Humorous videos. We mostly do humorous videos. Parodies of other things.
HOST: Why do you make videos of you smoking pot?
SHAWN ADKINS: Well, that one video, like I said,
that happened four years ago on the boat and I was smoking marijuana. I
was young, I was naïve back then and since then I’ve matured and since
then I don’t mess around with that anymore.
I guess, out of stupidity.
HOST: OK, so when people in your town say that you
and Billie partake in illegal drugs and illicit drugs – what do you have
to say to that?
SHAWN ADKINS: I say that they're misinformed. I do
not take illegal drugs. If we take anything it’s prescribed to us. And I
don’t have nothin' prescribed to me but I know Billie does.
HOST: Why do you think you’re the only person named in the disappearance of Hailey Dunn?
SHAWN ADKINS: Cuz I’m the last one that seen her.
HOST: And in that hour-and-a-half the day she went
missing, you had that hour-and-a-half with her. What happened in that
hour-and-a-half?
SHAWN ADKINS: I was just asking. Are you talking about the afternoon of the 27th?
HOST: We were told last night by Billie Dunn that you had a time-frame of an hour-and-a-half with Hailey.
SHAWN ADKINS: On which date? Well that Monday when I
last seen her I only l seen her for about a total of 15 minutes. That’s
when she told me that she was going to her father’s house real quick
and then she was going to go spend the night with her friend Mary Beth. I
didn’t see her very long that day.
HOST: When did Billie call you, when Billie found
out Hailey was missing and she talked to David and told David to call
over to Mary Beth’s.
SHAWN ADKINS: Yeah, actually I heard Hailey was
missing from David because David had Billie’s cell phone and I tried to
contact Billie at work and come to find out she’d left for the day so I
called her cell phone thinking she’d answer it and David answered and
told me what was going on. I found out that way. And then I rushed, you
know, right over there to the house.
HOST: Were the police there at that time?
SHAWN ADKINS: No, they weren’t there. I think they were there later that evening.
HOST: So the police came over later?
SHAWN ADKINS: Yes, m’am.
HOST: Shawn I want to address something with you
here. I want to talk about something that’s been all over the internet
and it’s about you having an affair. I want you to talk about that I
want you to say who the person was and just give us some information on
that please.
SHAWN ADKINS: OK, as far as an affair – an affair
never happened. This girl, her name is Andrea, I met her a few times
almost a year ago and the short time I known her I really didn’t take a
liking to her because in a way I feel that she was having a fatal
attraction toward me. I remember days when she was telling me she loves
me and I wanted to put an end to it and I did.
Ever since then she’s been, I feel like she’s stalking me and she’s
even gone to the extent of coming over to my mother’s house and
vandalizing her property. Ever since then she’s been causing problems
and I found out here lately that a searcher that she’s been putting all
these posts on Facebook that she and I were getting married and
everything like this, and that we’re still together.
I’m here to say that is not true. There’s only one woman I love and
that’s Billie Dunn. I have no feelings whatsoever for you Andrea. I wish
you would just leave me alone. I’ve already been through enough.
HOST: So you only knew her for three days?
SHAWN ADKINS: Yeah, three or four days. And it’s been almost a year.
HOST: So how is it that you have naked pictures of her on the thumb drive?
SHAWN ADKINS: Uh, I had – I just made a video.
HOST: You made a video?
SHAWN ADKINS: Yes, it was on that memory stick.
HOST: When was that made?
SHAWN ADKINS: Almost a year ago.
HOST: So within that three days that you knew her you made that video?
SHAWN ADKINS: Yeah.
HOST: OK. I want to talk about some questions here,
Shawn, you’ve got some serious stuff going on in your life right now. We
know about that, that’s why we’re on the radio tonight so what do you
think about going to prison for child pornography?
SHAWN ADKINS: I’m worried sick about it. Simply for
the fact that there’s a possibility that I might be going to jail for
something that I never did and had no knowledge about. So I just pray to
God every night that He watches over me as I go through this whole
ordeal.
HOST: What do you say to the allegations about child pornography?
SHAWN ADKINS: I was shocked when I heard about it.
Like I said, I had a hard time believing it and I still do. I don’t want
to believe that type of stuff was on my mother’s computer but all I
know is that I did not put them there and I had no knowledge about it.
Neither did my mother nor my brother.
HOST: Who do you think put them on there?
SHAWN ADKINS: I have no idea. There’s been so many
people who used that computer it would be hard to say. I know it wasn’t
me, my mother, or my brother.
HOST: Does anyone come to mind?
SHAWN ADKINS: Uh, a couple of people.
HOST: Can you say who they are?
SHAWN ADKINS: I’d rather choose to not say who they are at this moment.
HOST: OK. What about the grand jury? How do you feel about that?
SHAWN ADKINS: I hope that the grand jury does the
right thing which is clear me on everything. You know, I have faith in
the grand jury. I know that they’re going to do the right thing.
HOST: I have an interesting question here for you.
What if, I’m just saying what if here, Billie make a plea, a plea
bargain – you know what that is, right?
SHAWN ADKINS: I have an idea of what it is.
HOST: What are you going to do if she does something like that? Do you know what you’d do?
SHAWN ADKINS: I’d just stand my ground and say that I’m innocent, which I am.
HOST: Would you be upset with her for that?
SHAWN ADKINS: Yeah, I’d be very upset with her.
HOST: Can you explain why?
SHAWN ADKINS: Because I believe in my heart that she
had nothing to do with it just as well as I did. And like I said, I
believe that she had nothing to do with it and if she made a plea
bargain that would be implicating her guilt on it and that would just
totally ruin me to know that she made a plea bargain.
HOST: OK. I have another tough question for you. Has Billie been faithful to you in your relationship, Shawn?
SHAWN ADKINS: No, she’s been unfaithful but like I
said, we've worked through all of it now. I forgave her and I don’t hold
it against her in any way. I know she was sorry that she did it. And
she knows that I’m sorry for things I’ve done to her.
HOST: OK, another tough question here. Was Hailey scared of you?
SHAWN ADKINS: No, she was not scared of me.
HOST: OK. I want to ask something on that note.
SHAWN ADKINS: OK.
HOST: Several classmates of Hailey were interviewed and they stated that Hailey was scared of you. Can you explain that?
SHAWN ADKINS: I have no idea why they would say that
and I don’t even know if it’s true that they said that. Cuz, me and
Hailey, we got along really good. I know she wasn’t really fond of me
when me and Billie first started dating but we put that behind us and
we’ve had a pretty good relationship. Me and Hailey were good friends.
For Hailey to be scared of me – that just wouldn’t happen. I never
presented myself in a threatening way to Hailey, never. Like I say, if
me and Billie were having an argument I would try my hardest not to let
them see it, try to keep it behind closed doors so they wouldn’t have to
see it.
HOST: On that note, how did Hailey feel about that black mask, you dressing in black and that mask?
SHAWN ADKINS: She didn’t mind it at all.
HOST: She was only twelve years old - she didn’t mind it?
SHAWN ADKINS: Yeah, she put those masks on herself
and had fun with them too. She would sit right along with me and watch
horror movies, comedies. I mean, she wasn’t scared of it at all.
HOST: Do you think Hailey might be buried?
SHAWN ADKINS: No, I believe somebody abducted her. I
feel in my heart that she’s still alive and I’m just hoping that we’re
going to bring her home soon cuz it’s just not the same without her.
HOST: Last night Billie stated that she was really
confused now after everything that’s been found on the computers. We
asked her if she thought that you might have had something to do with
what’s going on and she said that now she feels confused. How do you
feel about this?
SHAWN ADKINS: Um, you know in all the talks I’ve had
with Billie she's always told me she doesn’t believe I had nothing to
do with it and before the child porn was ever made public I’d already
told her about that, what they found on my mom’s computer, and I assured
her it wasn’t me looking at it. If she’s feeling confused then we can
work it out. But she shouldn’t have to worry about that.
HOST: And there’s information that we have that on the day Hailey went missing …
SHAWN ADKINS: Uh, huh.
HOST: You were requesting naked photos from another girl on the day she went missing.
SHAWN ADKINS: Yeah, I was talking to other women.
HOST: You were requesting naked photos?
SHAWN ADKINS: I didn’t request naked photos, they
were just – one woman in particular sent some nude pictures of herself
to me. And I talked to her on the phone too.
HOST: Were you sending naked photos of yourself to her?
SHAWN ADKINS: No.
HOST: Shawn, do you expect to be arrested?
SHAWN ADKINS: I honestly don’t know. I just hope I don’t. I feel there’s no reason why I should be.
HOST: How many animals have you killed and slaughtered?
SHAWN ADKINS: Um, I killed rats that were in the
house, that’s about it. I love animals and I don’t hurt animals. I have a
lot of animals myself. I have some cats, I have dogs and I love
animals.
HOST: Do you know how many days Hailey’s been missing?
SHAWN ADKINS: How many days she’s been missing?
HOST: Uh, huh.
SHAWN ADKINS: Too much now.
HOST: OK. Why do you think you’re the only suspect in this case?
SHAWN ADKINS: Because I’m the last person that seen her.
HOST: What would make you think someone’s abducted her?
SHAWN ADKINS: Because her father’s saying she never
made it to his house when he lives less than, you know, 50 yards from
Billie’s house, and that her friend, that she never made it over there.
HOST: Who would have abducted her?
SHAWN ADKINS: I have no idea – it could have been anybody.
HOST: Is there anything missing from Billie’s house?
SHAWN ADKINS: No, not that I’m aware of.
HOST: Isn't it true that not all of Hailey’s shoes are accounted for in the house?
SHAWN ADKINS: Yeah, all of her stuff is there.
HOST: Including every single pair of her shoes?
SHAWN ADKINS: Except the ones she was wearing that day. She was wearing flip-flops.
HOST: Where are your uniforms at Shawn?
SHAWN ADKINS: OK, um, OK the 26th of December I had
Billie wash one of my two pairs of my coveralls and one pair was in my
locker at my job. And then Monday morning when I went in to work I
brought the one pair of coveralls Billie had washed, I brought them with
me and I took them to work and put them in my locker. And there are
many cameras on that property where I work and that will show me walking
into that locker room with a pair of coveralls and me walking out of
that place with no coveralls.
HOST: Have law enforcement checked your locker?
SHAWN ADKINS: Um, not to my knowledge.
HOST: Shawn, I see that in one of your videos you have a boat?
SHAWN ADKINS: Uh, that’s not my boat. That’s my uncle Cody’s boat. He sold that a few years back.
HOST: Do you like to go fishing?
SHAWN ADKINS: Yep, I like to go fishing.
HOST: Where’s your favorite place?
SHAWN ADKINS: I remember I went deep-sea fishing one
time with my friend Michael Murphy(?) That was probably my best fishing
experiment, best fishing expedition that I ever did.
HOST: Is there a favorite lake or pond around there that you like to go to?
SHAWN ADKINS: Uh, I usually like to fish at this
creek behind the cemetery across the street by my grandmother’s house.
I’ve been fishing that creek ever since I was little.
HOST: I want to ask you some questions because you’ve been asked a lot of hard questions tonight.
SHAWN ADKINS: OK.
HOST: I grew up on a ranch and there was always a
special place I used to go to that I used to call “my pond.” When life
was really hard and was really stressful I had a special place and
everyone has a special place. Tell us about your special place. Where do
you go?
SHAWN ADKINS: I remember my special place was the
creek. I know if I was upset about anything you know, I would run over
there and to me it’s just a peaceful place. You know, I feel like it’s
untouched, not a lot of people go there. I just go there to clear my
mind.
HOST: Can you tell us about the creek.
SHAWN ADKINS: I haven’t been there in a while.
HOST: When was the last time you saw your dad?
SHAWN ADKINS: Hmm… probably almost a month. He’s a
truck driver for that same company I worked for and he’s gone a lot so I
don’t really see him as much as I’d like.
HOST: What’s your relationship with your dad?
SHAWN ADKINS: We’re on good terms, we speak a lot. You know, he’s been right behind me this whole time you know. He’s there to support me.
HOST: What has this done to you?
SHAWN ADKINS: What?
HOST: How has this all affected you?
SHAWN ADKINS: Well, for one it's the horrible things
that’s been said about me – I’ll tell you right now, it’s ruined my
life. It really has. You know, I can’t really go into public places
because I feel like everyone’s staring at me or talking about me behind
my back. It’s gotten to that point where I don’t like to go to public
places. And it’s really flipped my life upside down. I’m really not
happy now.
HOST: Shawn, why did you not go out and search for Hailey when she went missing?
SHAWN ADKINS: Well, at the beginning I did. I was
passing out fliers and I was helping Billie out with the news and I was
doing interviews too. When I did my polygraph that day and I failed it
Billie told me not to go back to her house. I respected her wishes and I
didn’t. That’s when I got a lawyer. The lawyer told me to just stay out
of all of it. Plus I’ve had death threats on my life too.
HOST: Why would you get a lawyer?
SHAWN ADKINS: Because of what the law enforcement
were saying. They were badgering me, they were harassing me that they
know I did something to Hailey and it really bothered me that much
knowing I had nothing to do with it. I wasn't going to settle for that.
They were trying their hardest to get me to confess to her disappearance
and to confess that Billie had something to do with her disappearance.
I would not do it. I’m not about to confess to something I didn’t do. Not in a million years.
HOST: Why would you fail a polygraph?
SHAWN ADKINS: Well, I know you hear on some other
occasions that I’ve tried to take one. The time I had medicine in my
system and they wouldn’t let me take it. Then that second time I tried
to take it they accused me of – long pause – you know, just to …
HOST: Shawn?
SHAWN ADKINS: I’m sorry, I’m back.
HOST: I thought we lost you and I needed to get you back.
SHAWN ADKINS: I was in a bad area.
HOST: Back to the poly, why didn’t you, why did you fail the poly?
SHAWN ADKINS: Again, you know, the law enforcement
have treated me really unfair right from the beginning and they were in
my face. They screamed at me, cussed at me, accused me of everything and
that’s what they did to me the day of my polygraph. They did it to
Billie too. I don’t know if it was intentional to try to make us flunk
the polygraph but we flunked it.
I was really upset and I was even more upset when I left.
HOST: Is it true that when they requested you take a polygraph test in the beginning that you refused?
SHAWN ADKINS: Nope, that’s not true. Me and Billie
were the ones who came up with the idea in the first place to take one
and told the chief of police in Colorado City that we wanted to take
one. He said that would be a great idea.
HOST: What did they say about your polygraph exactly?
SHAWN ADKINS: In their words, it showed up I was being defective. Those were their words.
HOST: In what areas of the polygraph were you defective?
SHAWN ADKINS: In the areas where they asked me where Hailey was.
HOST: How many polygraphs have you taken?
SHAWN ADKINS: Um, I’ve just taken one.
HOST: Do you know what bestiality is?
SHAWN ADKINS: I have an idea of what it is.
HOST: What’s your idea?
SHAWN ADKINS: It’s sex with animals.
HOST: What’s your feeling about that?
SHAWN ADKINS: My feeling is disgust, it’s cruel, and it’s ______.
HOST: What’s your feeling on child pornography?
SHAWN ADKINS: The same exact thing, and you know,
how dare someone do that to a child? You know, that’s innocence. Doing
something like that to a child is everlasting. It’s going to ruin their
life.
HOST: How do you feel about having a child in a Slasher movie with the music and with the meat and talking about pulling a human heart out with a little girl with a Slasher mask on?
SHAWN ADKINS: Uh, it’s just all in fun. Like I said
that was eight years ago and I was young back then. And if there’s a
little kid in there I’m not really sure what video you’re talking about
but you know, she knew that it was pretend. That it wasn’t real.
HOST: Are you in contact with Corey still?
SHAWN ADKINS: I haven’t talked to him in probably over a month. I probably talked to him last after I took that polygraph.
HOST: Does Corey have access to that computer?
SHAWN ADKINS: Yeah, he’s been on it a few times.
HOST: Do you believe Corey could be involved in Hailey’s disappearance?
SHAWN ADKINS: No. I don’t.
HOST: Shawn, why would you not let David in the door?
SHAWN ADKINS: Well, it's easy to explain. When any
of us were by ourselves we always locked the door. And then when he said
he was knocking at the door I was in the restroom and then he said he
got through a window and we met up in the hallway, or wherever we met
up, and he surprised me. I didn’t hear him knocking or anything.
HOST: What happened?
SHAWN ADKINS: I was just, he just kind of startled
me when he got in there and then he and his friend went into his room
and then they were just playing their video games.
HOST: Why are, there’s some issues about the cellar
at your grandmother’s house. Can you tell me what you do in that cellar,
what that cellar’s about?
SHAWN ADKINS: I never knew about any issues with it.
Uh, the only time I’ve ever been in it is there was a really bad
thunderstorm, there was I think a tornado and we used that. That was 10
years ago. Nobody to my knowledge goes into that cellar.
HOST: OK, well I’m just going back to one of the
movies where the doors are open to the cellar. So can you describe what
that was about?
SHAWN ADKINS:I really don’t remember.
HOST: OK. Maybe I can remind you. You were standing
there in black clothing with a mask and you have a large knife and the
doors are open.
SHAWN ADKINS: Well, that was probably just for the
video. Corey liked to use different settings. He’d used a barn before,
an old barn, we've gone out in the woods, just for show. To make the
video look creepy.
HOST: How did your grandmother feel about this?
SHAWN ADKINS: She really didn’t like it too much.
Cuz she’s, I’d say, she’s a hardcore Baptist and she doesn’t really like
me watching horror movies or anything like that. She just didn’t like
it at all.
HOST: Did it scare her?
SHAWN ADKINS: No, she just didn’t like it at all because I guess she thought it was evil or whatever. She has her opinions about it.
HOST: Did you have any quads or four-wheelers that
you could go ride out in the desert? Could you have done something like
that instead?
SHAWN ADKINS: I think when I first started dating
Billie my uncle Cody had two four-wheelers and Cory was living in Snyder
at the time and me and him we’d drive around Dunn on dirt roads and
that sort of thing. We’d go riding around.
HOST: Are those four-wheelers still out at your grandmother's?
SHAWN ADKINS: Oh, no, I think my uncle Cody sold them a while back.
HOST: The X-Box. Is that still at your house or at Billie’s house?
SHAWN ADKINS: David’s X-Box, he took that with him
to his uncle Roger’s house. There’s another X-Box in the house that used
to be David’s and when he got the new one for Christmas he gave me his
old one and I’ve only played it a handful of times. I’m really not into
video games that much.
HOST: Did you ever use thumb drives in that?
SHAWN ADKINS: Uh, no.
HOST: Billie told us last night that you had several affairs on her.
SHAWN ADKINS: Uh, I really wouldn’t call it affairs.
I was in the wrong by talking to other women. And I can explain myself.
I can tell you right now that I wasn’t into that but I’ve had trust
issues with her from things that happened in the past. With her holding
things back from me and just how she used to treat me.
HOST: Connie Jones stated something to us that I felt I needed to address with you tonight.
SHAWN ADKINS: OK.
HOST: She stated to me that you had talked to her
and said that you could kill somebody and hide the body and no one would
ever be able to find it. And we’ve had several people state that to us.
Explain this a little.
SHAWN ADKINS: The only thing I can say about that is
it’s a flat lie. I never told Connie Jones anything like that. I don’t
talk to her. I don’t think I’ve ever talked to her. I’ve said hello in
passing but that’s it.
HOST: You’ve never said that to anybody? Hello?

New Website Launched to Keep Hope Alive for Missing Teen



A new website is keeping the case of missing Colorado city teen Hailey Dunn alive.
Hopeforhailey.org is now up and running.
The website lists the latest searches and news updates in Hailey's case.
The 13-year-old disappeared back on December 27.

Since then, there's been no sign of the teen.
Volunteer search teams continue to scour the area looking for Hailey.
So far, no arrests have been made.

The search for Hailey Dunn continues — and has not gone cold — even
though the Colorado City teen has been missing almost three months, a
local official said.

City Manager Pete Kampfer, the spokesman for the investigation, said
the search for the 13-year-old middle school student, who was reported
missing Dec. 28, has not stalled and that investigators continue to
follow up on any leads.

"They work the case, go out and search, and write reports on what
they did or did not find,' Kampfer said. "It is all part of the
progression of the case for law enforcement."

Over the course of the investigation, officials have conducted
searches in landfills in Abilene, Colorado City and Snyder. Cadaver dogs
from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice were used at the Colorado
City landfill, the Snyder Solid Waste Disposal Facility and the Allied
Waste Services landfill in Abilene.

The latest developments include the discovery of what authorities
called deviant images on a computer hard drive and memory stick
confiscated earlier in the investigation.

Officials said more than 108,000 images, reportedly depicting
bestiality and child pornography, were discovered on a computer
confiscated from the Big Spring home of the mother of Shawn Adkins, the
former boyfriend of Billie Dunn, Hailey's mother.

Another 320 images depicting child pornography were said to be on the
memory stick, found inside a dresser that Billie Dunn shared with
Adkins in Colorado City.

Adkins is the only named suspect in the case.

Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs said that although the devices
were obtained through search warrants related to the Hailey Dunn
investigation, the child pornography case was being handled as a
separate investigation.

Howard County District Attorney Hardy Wilkerson said no evidence
would be presented to the grand jury this week. Ann Reed, the district
attorney for Mitchell, Nolan and Fisher counties, did not return calls
for comment.

Meanwhile volunteers continue to search for Hailey Dunn, and will be
out today through Saturday. Over the past several weeks, volunteers from
Fort Hood in Killeen and Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo have
assisted in the search. Volunteer searchers have reported finding
several items that have been turned over to investigators. So far,
volunteers said investigators have not confirmed whether any of the
items were related to the case. "It is hard when you don't get any
answers (from investigators)," said Holly Jenkins, a volunteer from
Midland. "We never hear any verification — we don't know if what we turn
in means anything."

Jenkins, who has covered areas in and around Mitchell and Howard
counties, said the lack of clues as to Hailey's Dunn's whereabouts is
concerning.

"But at the same time, it gives me hope to know that we haven't found
her," Jenkins said. "We start to wonder — maybe she's out there
somewhere, still alive."

Colorado City City Manager Pete Kampfer tells CBS 7 that he can only confirm that she was picked up.

He said he cannot confirm if she was arrested or just taken in for questioning.

CBS 7 contacted the Mitchell County Sheriffs Office and Colorado City Police and neither say they have any information.

A family friend of Bilie Dunn also tells CBS 7 that they would like more information.

They say they don't know what has happened.

Billie Jean Dunn and Shawn Adkins have apparently been “picked up” by
officials from the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Department, according to
Pete Kampfer, Colorado City city manager .

Dunn, 33, is the mother of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn, who was reported
missing Dec. 28. Adkins is Billie Jean Dunn's former boyfriend.

A family member who was outside Dunn's home in the 1800 block of
Chestnut Street said Billie Jean Dunn was arrested for hindrance of the
investigation. However, the charge has not been confirmed by Mitchell
County authorities.

Adkins was reportedly at the home at the time Billie Jean Dunn was
taken into custody, but was not arrested then, according to the family
member.

Kampfer, who has been the official spokesman in the case, could not
confirm whether the two had been arrested or whether they had been taken
in for questioning.

Witnesses spotted vehicles from the Department of Public Safety and
the Mitchell County S.O. at the home of Shawn Adkins' grandmother in the
Dunn community earlier this evening. Vehicles from the Mitchell County
S.O. were also seen at the home of Billie Jean Dunn in Colorado City.

According to VineLink.com, a database of offenders in the Texas
Department of Criminal Justice system, Billie Jean Dunn is currently in
custody in the Mitchell County Jail.

A person on duty at the jail, however, would not confirm the report.

Hundreds of law enforcement personnel and volunteers have joined
searches for Hailey since she was reported missing. The missing child
case has drawn national attention with Billie Jean Dunn appearing on the
Nancy Grace show and missing children organizations have joined in the
search.

Adkins, who lived with Billie Jean Dunn at the time of Hailey's disappearance, has been the only named suspect in the case.

Last month investigators confirmed that a memory stick with
pornographic images was found in a dresser in the master bedroom of
Billie Jean Dunn's home. Also, officials said pornographic images were
found on a computer seized from the home of Shawn Adkins' mother in Big
Spring.

Hailey was last seen Dec. 27 by Adkins, who told police she was going
to spend the night with a friend. She was reported missing by her
mother the next day.

ABILENE, Texas -- Billie Jean Dunn was booked into the Mitchell County Jail on Thursday. The mother of the missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn is charged with hindering apprehension and prosecution, possession of dangerous drugs, and a false report to police officers.

Dunn was taken into custody by authorities at her Colorado City home Thursday evening. All three charges are misdemeanors.

Authorities were carrying out two search warrants, one from Scurry County where Texas Rangers searched the home of Shawn Adkins' grandmother in the community of Dunn, about 14 miles north of Colorado City.

Adkins, the live-in boyfriend of Billie Dunn at the time of Hailey Dunn's disappearance, is the only named suspect in the case.

The other search warrant was for Shawn Adkins himself, which means that authorities were likely seeking a sample of Adkins' DNA and/or fingerprints.

When authorities went to find Adkins, Billie Dunn allegedly lied about where he was which led to her charges. Officers came to her house in Colorado City looking for Adkins, and she told officers that Adkins wasn't there.

Dunn will see Justice of the Peace Williams on Friday morning, and a bond will be set at that time.

When Texas Rangers searched the home of Shawn Adkins' grandmother in Dunn, Rangers were seen taking boxes, blankets and other items from the property, KTXS has also learned there is a warrant to search Shawn Adkins' body.

Colorado City, TX – The mother of missing 13-year-old Hailey Dunn is being held on a $6,500 bond this morning after being arrested Thursday while law enforcement attempted to carry out a search warrant. (click here to view exclusive video of Billie Dunn inside the law enforcement center).

Billie Dunn was arraigned this morning; informed of her charges of hindering apprehension or prosecution, false report to a police officer, and possession of dangerous drugs. A judge set her bonds at $1,500 for the false report charge and $2,500 each for the two other charges.

The Mitchell County District Attorney's Office says they went to Billie Dunn's Colorado City home to carry out a search warrant on her longtime boyfriend, Shawn Adkins. During the search, law enforcement said Dunn lied to them. She was taken into custody and interrogated at the Mitchell County Law Enforcement Center Thursday evening.

We're told the drugs in question were prescription drugs without a proper prescription.

The search warrant that originally brought law enforcement to Dunn's home came from Howard County. The warrant was for a search of Shawn Adkins' body.

Scurry County also served a search warrant Thursday at the home of Adkins' grandmother's in Dunn, Texas.

The arrests don't seem to have any connection with Hailey's disappearance and don't immediately bring law enforcement any closer to finding the missing girl.

Billie Dunn and Shawn Adkins have both been named "persons of interest" in Hailey disappearance. Adkins is the only named suspect in the case.

Earlier this year, law enforcement revealed child pornography was discovered in connection with the case. Pornography was found in the Big Spring home of Adkins' mother as well as one a jump drive in Dunn's home. Authorities say there was child porn on a computer seized in Big Spring. Billie Dunn says investigators told her there was no child pornography discovered on the jump drive taken from her home.

Hailey reportedly disappeared from her Colorado City home on December 27, 2010.

Kampfer.Kampfer told KTXS Thursday night he has been told that
she was led away and was being questioned. Authorities did use a
Colorado City officer to escort officials with the district attorney's
office to the home.Kampfer said he believes the interrogation is being initiated by the office of District Attorney Ann Reed.

Many in the
community were more than willing to give NewsWest 9 their two cents
worth, just hours before Billie Dunn got out of jail.
The quiet little town of Colorado City is
still shaken by the events unfolding since December. Billie Dunn's
arrest was just another thing to talk about at the water cooler or even
the neighborhood grocery store.
Residents NewsWest 9 spoke to all have their own opinions, regardless of how long they've lived in Colorado City.
Veronica Matos is Dunn's neighbor.
"I was pretty shocked, to be honest with you,
especially after I found out what she had been arrested for. " (how
long have you known her?) "I don't know her personally." (How long have
you lived close to her?) "For three years," Matos said.
According to Adelina Espinoza, "To me? They
should pay. If they have something to do with it, they should pay for
what they're doing. Everybody is worried about what's going on. If they
did wrong and they did something to her, they should have to pay for
it."
"I hope they're fixing to catch them. They
finally arrested her," Peggy Gale added. "I think it's finally coming
to an end. I think her and her boyfriend are in it." (what was your
reaction to the arrest last night?) "Wonderful!"
But perhaps these life long residents said it best.
"I think it's heartbreaking for our
community," Theresa Thomason, said. "Citizens and surrounding towns and
across America have started supporting our law enforcement in seeking to
find Hailey Dunn. Billie Dunn has seemed to have something she's been
hiding from the onset of this. "
Another resident added, "I thought
kidnappings or disappearance in general, (that) doesn't happen in this
small town. I grew up here and we walked everywhere. I was, I don't
know. I was going to say shocked, but I'm not going to say shocked. I
kind of have a gut feeling that Shawn and Billie know where she's at."
(do you think they know more than they're letting on?) "I think they do
more than they're letting on."

I think it would be "I dun't no nuthin 'bout know porno nor nuthin" But I think the orange looks good on her, damn shame they didn't keep her in it!
