NEW LONDON — Police are searching for two teens who disappeared early Friday.
Sgt.
Edward Anderson said Devon Elizabeth Pike, 17, of New London, and
Timothy O’Neill, 15, of Wilmot, were last seen shortly before 6 a.m.
Friday at Pike’s residence on Birch Acres Road. They left on foot, he
said, but a bloodhound dog was not able to track their trail.
“It’s possible they could have been picked up, possibly by a friend,” Anderson said. “We’re not sure on that.”
Anderson
said Pike and O’Neil are a couple and left together. He said Pike has a
driver’s license, but no cars were taken from either residence.
He said police are not suspecting foul play at this point.
“Right now, we’re just looking at it as a runaway,” he said.
Search parties from local and state agencies have been involved in a search effort, he said.
“We really have very little to go on at this time,” Anderson said.
Anyone with information is asked to call New London police at 526-2626.
Pike
is described as white, 5 feet, 3 inches and 130 pounds with dark brown
hair and hazel eyes. She has a faint scar on the back of her right hand.
She wears glasses, but did not take them with her, police said.
O’Neill is described as white, 5 feet, 11 inches tall and 115 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

NEW LONDON - Two teens missing since early Friday have been found unharmed, police said Saturday morning.
Officer
Russell Lamson said Devon Elizabeth Pike, 17, of New London, and
Timothy O’Neill, 15, of Wilmot, were found about 10:30 a.m. Saturday in
the town of New London.
"They’re OK. They’re safe," Lamson said. "They’re both alive and well. It’s a good ending to this."
The
pair were last seen about 6 a.m. Friday at Pike’s residence on Birch
Acres Road, leaving on foot and were possibly picked up in a car, police
said Friday night. Police treated the disappearance as a runaway and
said foul play was not suspected.
Lamson said he didn’t know if
Pike and O’Neill, who police said are a couple, were found inside a
building or outside. He said they were found in New London and were
taken to New London Hospital for precautionary reasons.
A large police search that included the use of a helicopter, continued into Saturday morning before the teens were found.
