Sources: Persons of interest ID'd in girl's disappearance
http://www.komonews.com/news/local/88224357.html
Sources tell ABC news that 12 people identified as persons of interest in the case live inside and outside of McCleary, and at least two of those people are considered "high interest" by investigators.
While an arrest may not be imminent, police say the case is active and they are hopeful.
And Lindsey's mom is still spending every day working to find her daughter. "I don't care who you are," she said. "I just want my Lindsey back safely."

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- A 9-year-old girl said she was approached by a man in a
car when she was walking home from school on Friday. The
Roosevelt Elementary School student said she got off the school bus near
Miller Avenue Northeast and Fairview Street around 3:45 p.m. when a man
in a vehicle approached her.The man talked to the girl and said
he needed someone to help pull weeds and asked her to get in his car,
Olympia police said. The girl said she didn’t say anything to the
man and didn’t get in his car."After several attempts, he yelled
at her to get in the vehicle," said Jim Costa of the Olympia Police

fillings. She said he was wearing a red T-shirt with a picture of Jimi
Hendrix on the front. He was driving a gray or silver boxy-type
vehicle such as a Scion XB or Honda
Element. It had a 3-d baseball on back window, one that looks like it's

Re: LINDSEY J BAUM - 10 yo (2009) - McCleary WA
Police have released a new video of Lindsey Baum that was filmed about
eight months before she disappeared in the hopes it will generate new
clues.
Ten-year-old Lindsey went missing while walking home at dusk on June 26,
2009.
The new video was provided to the Grays Harbor County Sheriff's
Department by a neighborhood family whose child is seen in the video
with Lindsey, said Undersheriff Rick Scott.
Scott says it is important to note that the children are play acting a
skit that they created and was videotaped by the parent, adding the
video was made on or about November of 2008 and depicts Lindsey somewhat
younger than she was at the time of her disappearance.
It does, however, show her mannerisms and allow people to hear her
voice, Scott said.
Scott says detectives and volunteers will be conducting another search
around the area this weekend.
A $25,000 reward has been offered to help bring Lindsey home.

Authorities Hope For Break In Case
In the video taken when
Lindsey and some other children were performing in a skit, Lindsey can
be heard yelling, "Don't kill me! Don't kill me" as a little boy chases
her with a sword. The video was taken in November 2008 -- about 7
months before Lindsey’s disappearance.Clarence Kohl told KIRO 7
Eyewitness News that he shot the video that includes his son.“I’m
hoping that somebody sees her and notices maybe something about the way
she moves or her smile and it might recall something that somebody can
call in and say, 'I’ve seen her,'” Kohl said.Kohl said his son
and Lindsey made the skit after watching a Scooby Doo
cartoon. Lindsey was running down the stairs, "acting like a good guy
being chased by a bad guy," he said.As the one-year anniversary
of the little girl's disappearance approaches, the Grays Harbor
Sheriff’s Office and the FBI
will be intensifying their investigation and conducting searches in and
around McCleary this weekend and coming weeks. While investigators
told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that they have several persons of interest
in the case, so far no evidence has surfaced to provide any clear
answers about what happened to the little girl.Anyone who has
information about the case is asked to call the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s
Office.

BBM - I don't know what to think of this - if she is still alive, it may help jog a memory - but if she's gone, i am not sure i would want to see video of her saying that, even though she was just play acting.

Most parents don't know what it's like to have a child disappear.
Unfortunately for Melissa Baum, that's not the case.
"Until it happens to you," Baum said,"you don't have a clue."
Baum's 10-year-old daughter Lindsey vanished while walking home from a
friend's house in McCleary, Wash., last June.
Melissa Baum recently wrote an email to the family of the missing
7-year-old from Oregon, Kryon Horman. Baum wanted the family to know
there was someone nearby who could relate to what they were going through.
That was something she needed last year.
"I felt a lot more alone before I met with other families," said Baum.
Baum has not heard back from the Horman family.
On Friday, investigators began to ask the public for more information
about Kyron's stepmother. She was the last person to see Kyron.
Baum said that does not surprise her. She said in the first days
after her daughter's disappearance, investigators asked her to take a
polygraph test. She agreed.
"I tried to be pretty open and honest," said Baum, "Because my focus
was, don't waste [their] time. Find my kid."
Next Saturday marks the one-year anniversary of Lindsey's disappearance.
Kyron Horman's family has been invited to join Lindsey's loved ones
as they mark the anniversary in Olympia.
Lindsey's friends and family will be gathering in Olympia's Heritage
Park from 2-8pm Saturday, June 26.

Re: LINDSEY J BAUM - 10 yo (2009) - McCleary WA
One year ago Saturday, Lindsey Baum disappeared while walking home
from a friend's home in the small town of McCleary.
No arrests have been made. Detectives have turned up no significant
evidence about her disappearance. A $25,000 reward is available to the
person who gives information that leads to finding Lindsey.
A safety and awareness event was held Saturday in Olympia in
Lindsey's honor. Kids came for the fun and games, the clowns and
puppets.
Parents had their own reasons. Katie Moore, 9, is walking around with
black fingertips after getting her fingerprints taken at a safety
station.
"We were putting our hands in ink so, if we got lost, they would know
our fingerprints," said Katie.
Her parents pray they'll never need Katie's fingerprint card. Melissa
Baum never dreamed she'd need one for her daughter, Lindsey.
"You don't think it can happen to you," said Melissa. "There is no
safe place for your children."
Melissa admits the small town of McCleary lulled her into a false
sense of security and convinced her to give Lindsey a little
independence. But that night, when Lindsey vanished, forever changed all
of their lives.
"Half of my soul is missing. Half of my heart is gone and you can't
really go on without that," said Melissa.
Beyond the laughter, an undercurrent of grief lurks at the child
safety fair. There are others here who can honestly say they know
exactly how Melissa Baum feels.
"It is a special pain that we share, and so if we can provide some
support for her, that's good," said Chuck Cox. His daughter, Susan
Powell, disappeared last December.
Friends of Nancy Moyer, missing from Tenino, wear t-shirts with her
photo.
"It's all the family can do to get through each day," said Nancy's
friend Bev Posten.
They all clutch onto hope. Yet, the mother of Teekah Lewis, missing
from Tacoma for over 10 years now, knows what the future holds if these
loved ones remain missing.
"It gets worse every year. Every anniversary, every birthday, every
Christmas gets worse because she's not here," said Theresa Lewis, her
eyes brimming with tears.
A benefit concert in honor of Lindsey is scheduled for Saturday
night.

A benefit concert in honor of Lindsey is scheduled for Saturday
night.

Thanks Tom. I wish they would find Lindsey. I'm sure there's a link between her and Adrianna Jackson. I'd love to get my hands on both files.

The Grays Harbor County Sheriffs Department has released more video
related to the Lindsey Baum investigation, one year after her
dissappearance, Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott said "we are
now releasing additional video of people and vehicles that have not
been identified from the Shell Station videos."
Some of the video is from earlier in the day and some from later in the evening.
The Department is asking that people that recognize either of the persons
or vehicle contact us at 1-866-915-8299 or at soadmin@co.grays-harbor.wa.us.
Scott said "We have not identified these people so are unsure how long
they were in McCleary on that date and if they may have seen anything
that may be of use in the investigation."
Investigators would still like to talk to anyone who may have seen anything in McCleary
between 9 and 10 pm Friday - June 26th of 2009, when the little girl
failed to return to her home on Mommsen Road from a friend's house on
Maple street a few blocks away.
Lindsey's family has established a couple of websites to promote the search efforts,
www.findlindseybaum.com
www.lindseybaum.com
Lindsey will turn 12 years old on Tuesday July 7th, and is described as 4
foot-9, 80 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen
wearing a grey pullover hoodie with blue jeans and black shoes.

Re: LINDSEY J BAUM - 10 yo (2009) - McCleary WA
It is so heartbreaking that she has not been found yet.
I have a question that I was hoping someone can clarify for me.
I heard that Lindsey was initial with her older brother on her walk to her friends house, but then they were squabbling, so a man (possible family friend) split them up, then Lindsey was alone on the way back home.
Is this true?
Also, if it is true, could this man be the perpetrator? Did he purposely split up Lindsey and her brother so that she would be alone?
Thank you in advance for clearing this up for me.

She says Lindsey argued with her brother on her way to a friend's
house Friday night. She talked to her friend for a bit, then started
for home as darkness fell.
The friend's father, Scott Williams, said he
asked Lindsey to go home before it got too dark.
"She was here 10, 15 minutes, and then, you know, we said, 'You
should probably get going before it gets dark,' and that was the last
we heard of her," he said.
Witnesses say Lindsey seemed normal as she headed out around
9:15. Another friend even walked her part of the way, but Lindsey
never showed up at her home.
(from one of the earliest reports )
i believe the family friend was thoroughly investigated early on and cleared.

From the initial reports...
Lindsey's mother admits the 10-year old had been fighting with her
brother in the moments before she was last seen, and that Lindsey is still
upset about her parent's recent divorce.

Thank you Ovie and Tom,
This case has bothered me from the beginning for the obvious reasons and also because I spent my childhood summers in a nearby town.
If I had sent my children on an errand together, I would be livid if any grown up intervened and sent them their separate ways.
This area is also heavily wooded (just like the area Kyron went missing in). Lindsey may be near by, but very difficult to find.
So sad.

Lindsey has been missing since May. The media don't seem to care or want to cover this horrid story and I am confused as to why?
God Bless her

It's suspicious they haven't come forward of their own accord as surely they have heard about her and realize they were there. Hopefully someone will recognize them and the truck and call in.
