An Amber Alert is out Saturday night for a five-month-old baby, who
police say was forcibly removed from her foster home by her biological parents.


State Troopers say five-month-old Naomi Drake was abducted Friday near the Vermont border.



Her parents 24-year-old James Drake and 22-year-old Maria Trombley are accused of taking her.
They were last seen driving a brown 1982 Honda Accord.

An Amber Alert has been issued for a 5-month-old girl abducted by her
biological parents from a foster home at 11 p.m. Friday, State Police at
Ray Brook said.
Naomi Trinity Drake was forcibly taken from the Haven Road residence in
Essex County after her foster parents were allegedly assaulted by James
Drake and Maria Trombley, troopers said. The Amber Alert was issued
at 2:25 a.m. today.Drake and Trombley are believed to be headed
to Texas with their daughter, according to an update in the Amber Alert
issued to troopers.Drake and Trombley allegedly drove off with
Naomi in a brown, four-door 1992 Honda sedan with New York license plate
number EWP6999.The couple is now believed to be driving a 1991
white Dodge Shadow with New York license plate number ESC2421.Troopers
issued the following descriptions:"James Drake is a white male,
approximately 24 years old, with brown hair and blue eyes. He is
approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. The
suspect was last seen wearing shorts, unknown shirt and flip- flops on
his feet.""Maria Trombley is a white female, approximately 22
years old, with blond hair and brown eyes. The suspect is pregnant and
was last seen wearing shorts, unknown shirt and flip-flops on her feet.
She has a tattoo of a sun on her stomach." Troopers said Naomi
Trinity Drake is 5 months old with blond hair and blue eyes. She is
approximately 20 inches long and weighs about 16 pounds. The child was
last seen in a blue-and-brown sleeper with a dog on the chest or leg.Anyone

An Amber Alert that State Police issued early Saturday morning
in connection with an alleged child abduction in Essex County
remains in place as of 11 p.m. Saturday evening.
Police say James Drake, 24, and Maria Trombley, 23, both of
Plattsburgh, entered a home on Haven Road in Jay and abducted a
child, Naomi Trinity Drake, from the residence of her foster parents.
Authorities say Drake and Trombley are the child's biological
parents but have no custody rights to the child and assaulted Naomi
Drake's foster parents during the incident.
Police say Drake and Trombley were last seen driving a white,
convertible, 2-door 1991 Dodge Shadow with New York license plate number ESC 2421.
James Drake is described as white, with brown hair and blue
eyes. He is approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 160
pounds. He was last seen wearing shorts and flip flops.
Maria Trombley is described as white, with blonde hair and brown
eyes. The suspect is pregnant and was last seen wearing shorts,
unknown shirt and flip flops on her feet. She has a tattoo of a sun on her stomach.
Naomi Drake is described as white, 5 months old, and was last
seen wearing a blue and brown sleeper with a dog on the chest or leg.
Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call

This little girl has been found, it was on our scanner. They announced about an hour or so ago that the amber alert was canceled because the child had been found.

I think it said on the scanner that they were found in Virginia, or somewhere along there. Hopefully they'll take the baby from them the minute him/her are born.

A missing child abducted in New York has been found 15 hours away.
An Amber Alert was issued Saturday in New York State for
5-month-old Naomi Drake.
State Police are reporting the infant has been found by
Highway Patrol Units in Tennessee.
Drake was stolen from her foster parents home in Jay, New
York by her biological parents late Friday night.
24-year-old James Drake and 23-year-old Maria Trombley have
been taken into custody.
Neither had custodial rights to the child.

The five-month-old infant who was abducted from her foster home
in Jay, Essex County, Friday night has been found safe in Tennessee and
her biological parents have been taken into custody by the Tennessee
Highway Patrol.
State Police said Naomi Trinity Drake was found with her biological
parents, James Drake, 24, and Maria Trombley, 22, in Tennessee. State
Police said they developed information that Drake and Trombley were
possibly traveling through Tennessee on their way to Texas. Investigator
Stephen Ansari contacted the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the
description of the vehicle that they were believed to be traveling in
was broadcast to law enforcement personnel.

At approximately 2:04 p.m. Sunday, Troopers Roderick Sharp and
Steven Ballard, Tennessee Highway Patrol, observed the suspects driving
west on Interstate 40 in Haywood County near Brownsville, Tenn. The
Troopers initiated a traffic stop and took both suspects into custody
without incident and the missing infant was found inside the vehicle in
good health.
Drake and Trombley are being held in the Haywood County Jail pending
extradition.
The child is in the custody of the Department of Children Services
for Haywood County pending transfer to her lawful guardian.
Police said the pair was intoxicated when they broke into the child’s
foster home on Haven Road in Jay about 11:25 p.m. Friday.
Drake and Trombley, who is pregnant, broke into the residence,
assaulted the child’s foster parents and forcibly took the child, police
said. They have no custodial rights to the child.

James Drake and Maria Trombley, who allegedly kidnapped their
5-month-old daughter from her foster home in Jay, were arraigned in
Haywood County, Tenn. Tuesday as fugitives and waived extradition
proceedings to New York.The two will be returned to New York by
July 16, said Essex County District Attorney Kristy Sprague, where they
will face charges of second-degree burglary and second-degree custodial
interference.Someone went to Tennessee Sunday night, after the
arrest, to retrieve the baby, five-month-old Naomi Drake, state police
Bureau of Criminal Investigation Investigator Steve Ansari said Tuesday
morning. Arrangements have been made through Essex County's Social
Services department to return her to her foster mother, who is James
Drake's aunt.Ansari said he didn't know why Naomi was in foster
care. A custody hearing involving all the parties had been scheduled for
the end of this month, but the aunt had been granted sole custody based
on an initial order from Jay town court.Several family members
were at the house on Hazen Road when Drake and Trombley broke in Friday
night, Ansari said."The homeowner was familiar with them, but she
did not allow them to come in," Ansari said. "They forced their way
past her, into the house."The homeowner said Drake and Trombley
were intoxicated when they broke in, and the nationwide Amber Alert
issued as a result of the alleged abduction repeated this. State police
were not able to confirm this, however, Ansari said. He said there were
no weapons involved, as far as police were aware, and "there was a
struggle, but no serious physical injuries as a result."The
initial Amber Alert said the couple was driving a Honda Accord, but this
was later changed to a Dodge Shadow convertible, which is what they

determined how they fled the house in Jay or whether they were in the
Dodge the entire time.Ansari said they were heading to Texas

James Drake and Maria Trombley, the couple who allegedly kidnapped

Maria Trombley appeared in a Jay, N.Y. courthouse Tuesday to face
charges stemming from a nationwide Amber Alert in early July.Trombley,
who is more than three months pregnant, did not say much in court but
cried during the proceedings. She faced charges of custodial
interference and burglary.On July 2, police said Trombley and her
fiance, James Drake, took their 6-month-old daughter Naomi from her
legal guardian in Jay. Police issued an Amber Alert that ended more than
24 hours later, when police picked the three up outside Memphis, Tenn.According
to court proceedings, Trombley and Drake signed over guardianship of
their daughter to a family member in late June.That family member
told the court that on July 2, Trombley punched her twice and forcibly
took Naomi from her home.Family members said Naomi was back in
their care and doing fine.Trombley was held on $5,000 bail and
James Drake was expected in court in early August.
