Police are seeking the public's assistance in finding a runaway 16-year-old boy who they say suffers from depression and bipolar disorder. He ran away from home on Sep. 3.

According to a release from police Dayend Upshur is 5'5" tall, 160 pounds with brown eyes. He was last seen wearing his hair in a large afro style. He was last seen in a white t-shirt, khaki pants and black shoes.

He frequents the Pinedale Manor area of the city according to the release. Police are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact Detective Beth Wright at 757-928-4335 or wrightme@nngov.com

NEWPORT NEWS—Police located a missing 16-year-old Newport News boy last week who had been missing since Sept. 3. Dayend La Upshur was picked up by Norfolk police on Thursday.
