---Excellent Post Flutter1! BTW, Welcome to J4C!flutter1 wrote:Billie Dunn said."You know I'm happier now," Billie Dunn said she told her daughter. "And over time she realized that.
Now, this is the ironic part. Did Hailey really accept this or did it just become obvious to her that her mother wasn't going to put her daughter's happiness and safety over her own?
Judging from all of the NG interviews on HLN I can surmise that Billie knows alot more about this than meets the eye.
Each night the bags under her eyes grow deeper and darker.
Complicity and guilt sure can wear on you.

Hailey's Tearful Father Meets with Organizers, Searchers
The tearful father of missing 13-year-old Hailey Dunn met with searchers Wednesday morning before they went out looking for the Colorado City teen.
Clint Dunn and the group dubbed "Hailey's Angels" met at a bridge in the town of Dunn that's been turned into a makeshift vigil for Hailey. The site features teddy bears, pictures of Hailey, and messages that have been left for and about the girl.
The group read poems and prayed together as Clint thanked the volunteers for the continued efforts to bring Hailey home safely.
Shortly after the ceremony, many of the searchers gathered at the Colorado City Civic Center to meet with two private missing children's organizations that are helping organize the volunteer efforts. Representatives from KlaasKids and the Laura Recovery Center provided a short training seminar on the best way to search before sending out folks in organized groups.

9-1-1 Calls Won't Help Find Hailey, Mom Says
The release of 9-1-1 calls made by Billie Dunn last February aren't doing anything to help find her missing daughter, Dunn said Tuesday night.
The calls were made shortly after Dunn had temporarily broken up with her boyfriend, Shawn Adkins, now a suspect in 13-year-old Hailey Dunn's disappearance.
Dunn called police on Valentine's Day last year, asking if an officer could keep an eye on her home, fearing Adkins would try to steal something while she was at work.
"Shawn had taken a debit card after we had gotten into an argument, she said. "We can say ugly things to each other."
A call later placed by Adkins said Billie was trying to kill herself.

Hailey's Older Brother Taken Into Temporary State Family Protective Custody
COLORADO CITY, Texas -- KTXS learned Wednesday that Hailey Dunn's older brother, David, has been taken into temporary custody of the state's Department of Family and Protective Services.
Colorado City Manager Pete Kampfer said it is common practice to remove a child when a situation like this occurs, just to protect David.
Meanwhile, also on Wednesday, for the first time, law enforcement worked with volunteer searchers and two national foundations to give them direction.
KlaasKids and the Laura Recovery Center Foundation trained volunteers Wednesday morning how to go about searching for Hailey.
Hailey's father, Clint Dunn, joined the group of about 55 searchers, to offer up his support.

Nancy Grace Takes Dunn 911 Calls National
snipped....
The domestic disturbance in question is mentioned in police affidavits regarding the disappearance of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn. Hailey has been missing since December 27, 2010.
In regards to Adkins threatening Billie's life, Nancy Grace asked why she would taken him back after he threatened to kill her.
"We had a rocky relationship," replied Dunn. "The last year was good and the last 6 months were awesome."
The program reported one of Hailey's earrings has recently been discovered on the floor at her father's home. Grace also reported that the child a witness says she spotted with Hailey on the morning of December 27 may be the son of Clint Dunn's girlfriend. The witness told KRBC's Jessica Reyes she believes she saw Hailey walking with a young boy on the day she vanished.
The program also reported that Billie Dunn's other child, 16-year-old David Dunn, was taken into state custody. Sources tell bigcountryhomepage.com that CPS is investigating the Dunns. However, sources tell us David hasn't been placed in custody of the state. Billie Dunn confirmed that on Wednesday night saying he was staying with relatives in Snyder.

Re: HAILEY DUNN - 13 yo (2010) - Colorado City (W of Abilene) TX
COLORADO CITY — The brother of missing Colorado City teenager Hailey
Dunn is staying with a relative, family members said Wednesday.
Pete Kampfer, city manager of Colorado City, confirmed the report and
said the Texas Department of Protective and Family Services was
involved in the placement of 16-year-old David Dunn in another home.
Officials at Child Protective Services, however, could not confirm
involvement in the case, said CPS public information officer Marleigh
Meisner.
Otherwise, few new developments were reported in the case of 13-year-old Dunn, who was reported missing Dec. 28 by her mother.
Officials vehemently denied reports that the teenager's body had been found in a Coleman landfill Wednesday.
News media covering Dunn's disappearance received tips Wednesday
afternoon that a girl's body had been found in Coleman, more than 100
miles to the southeast.
"I can tell you that is 100 percent untrue," said Kampfer, adding Coleman's site has not been searched.
"We have searched in Snyder, Big Spring, Abilene and the one in
Mitchell County," Kampfer said. "But no evidence has been found related
to Hailey."
Last week, crews searched for two days at a landfill just north of Abilene.
Kampfer reiterated that although Shawn Adkins, the former boyfriend
of Hailey Dunn's mother, Billie Jean Dunn, is a suspect, there are
"other persons of interest."
Kampfer said Adkins is saying little to police on the advice of his
attorney, Sidney Lyles of Fort Worth. Adkins has said he has nothing to
do with Hailey Dunn's disappearance.Neighbors reported seeing Hailey
Dunn in the days or hours before she was reported missing.
Jean Burroughs, who has a beauty shop on 19th and Locust streets,
said she saw the teenager twice between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Dec. 27.
First, Burroughs said she saw Hailey Dunn walking on East 19th Street
"I'm certain it was Hailey, I've known her for years," said
Burroughs, who lives in a house behind the home on Chestnut Street that
Billie Jean Dunn shared with Adkins and her two children.
Burroughs said she later saw Hailey Dunn walking down the alley behind her shop.
Travis Walston, who owns the house two doors down from the Dunn home, reported seeing the teenager on Christmas Eve.
He said that Dennis Pharris, who was living in Walston's house,
reported seeing Hailey Dunn in her backyard talking on a cell phone at
noon Dec. 27.
"I have told the cops that his story is not reliable," said Walston,
who added that he had kicked Pharris out of the house. It is unknown
whether Pharris is a person of interest.
Kampfer said investigators are going over the evidence and statements given by Adkins and others.
Adkins' actions before and after Hailey Dunn's disappearance have investigators looking at him more closely, Kampfer said.
According to affidavits released last week, Adkins failed a polygraph
after walking out of the test, commented that Hailey Dunn was
promiscuous and on drugs, and told investigators that she could be found
in Scurry County.
Law enforcement officials took efforts to find Hailey Dunn in several directions Wednesday, including a search in Scurry County.
Law enforcement has searched around Lake Colorado City, but not in it.
Kampfer said there have been no leads that indicate Hailey Dunn could be found in the lake and to drag it would be expensive.
"It is cavernous," Kampfer said of the lake, which is located
southwest of the city. "It is like a canyon — the bottom, shaped like a
'V,' so it would be very difficult to drag it."
Billie Jean Dunn again appeared HLN's "Nancy Grace" on Wednesday night.
Mark Klaas, the founder of KlaasKids Foundation, was in Colorado City on Wednesday night and also appeared on the show.
"We need to be looking for a live little girl," Klaas told Grace.
Grace said one of the earrings that Hailey was reported to be wearing
when she disappeared was found in Clint Dunn's home after her
disappearance.
Clint Dunn and his girlfriend, Naomi Stewart, told the Reporter-News
that Hailey Dunn had spent Christmas night at Clint Dunn's home.
"She took off those earrings and dropped them by the couch and asked
me to put them up for her," Stewart said. "She asked me to pick them up
for her, and I only found one of them."
Stewart and Clint Dunn said Hailey Dunn walked to the Dollar Store
and Alco department store on Sunday, not Monday, as Burroughs told
police.
"She never came over at all Monday," Stewart said.
"Police have told us surveillance tapes at both stores put Hailey there on Sunday," Clint Dunn said.
Grace also played 911 recordings from February, when Billie Jean Dunn
reported that Adkins threatened to kill her, her daughter and her
estranged husband. Affidavits previously made public did not list
threats to Clint Dunn.http://www.gosanangelo.com/news/2011/jan/19/missing-teens-brother-staying-with-relative/

Spokesman: Hailey's Body Needed for Successful Prosecution
Colorado City's City Manager Pete Kampfer made one thing clear about the investigation into the disappearance of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn: whether she's the victim of a crime or simply ran away, law enforcement's focus is to find Hailey Dunn.
In an interview Wednesday with KTAB's Priscilla Luong, Kampfer reiterated that the law enforcement side of the case is intensifying. He says officers are working to corroborate the information and tips they've put together. A focus of the investigation continues to be the only named suspect in Hailey's disappearance, Shawn Adkins.
"We're going back over things that he has made statements to and corroborating that and anything related to searches that come up with him -- and areas that he's been in and other witnesses related to him," said Kampfer about the boyfriend of Hailey's mother.
Kampfer also discussed why an arrest hasn't yet been made in the case. He made it clear that in many cases of this nature, a body is key to successful prosecution.
"In talking to the prosecutor, that (body) is something they would like to have," said Kampfer. "We're about that right now. To whatever the status of Hailey (is), we're looking for Hailey."
Kampfer said while hope remains alive that Hailey could still be alive, investigators have gone through quite a bit of disappointment as they follow leads.

Knowing CPS as well as I do, unfortunately, what has probably happened in that the Billie Dunn has "voluntarily" placed her some with her brother. This is not an official removal, but it does cover CPS's rear if something were to happen to the boy if they did nothing.
In reality, this is just a CPS bluff. If Billie Dunn wanted her son returned to her care and control, she could go get him at any time and there is nothing CPS can do without going to court and convincing the judge that there is the child is in imminent danger.
Then law enforcement would assist CPS in the removal of the child and he would be placed where CPS feels is best for him.

RAW VIDEO: Search Ends at Colorado City Landfill
Searchers returned to the Colorado City landfill Thursday in their ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn.
The search included cadaver dogs. Searchers arrived at around 1:30 p.m. and left before 3 p.m. It's unclear what they discovered, if anything.
Colorado City's City Manager Pete Kampfer told KTAB's Tiffany Tatro it's not usually customary to do a second search of this nature. However, Kampfer said investigators deemed it appropriate.
Kampfer said the Texas Department of Criminal Justice brought in different dogs from the ones used during their first visit of the landfill.

Authories now searching Snyder landfill for missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn
COLORADO CITY – A waste facility in Snyder was the second landfill law enforcement searched to find evidence into the disappearance of Hailey Dunn who has been missing for over three weeks.
Cadaver dogs from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice were used at the Colorado City landfill and are currently searching at the Snyder Solid Waste Facility.
“We don’t know if there have been any hits,” said Pete Kampfer, city manager and spokesman for the task force investigating the disappearance of 13-year-old teen.
Investigators continued to search in Scurry County today.
Kampfer admitted there were hits at the Allied Waste Services during a search last Thursday and Friday but said it is unknown whether the hits were related to the Dunn case.
Volunteers continue searched in Scurry County as well, said Brad Dennis, director of KlaasKids Foundation, which is in Colorado City to organize volunteer search efforts.
“We also searched a lot of areas around the Colorado River,” Dennis said.

Search Expert: "I Need People to Come Out Here"
During a live interview during KTAB News Thursday evening, an expert on missing children cases had a very clear message for viewers watching at home.
"I need people to come out here," said Marc Klaas.
Klaas knows Billie Dunn's situation well. In the 90s, his daughter, Polly Hannah Klaas, went missing and was later found dead. Since then, he's formed the advocate group KlaasKids in hopes of bringing home missing children alive. Klaas regularly appears on the Nancy Grace show to discuss Hailey's case.
"We need people to come out here and search for this girl," said Klaas. "It's going to be a good day tomorrow. And we want people to take her fliers and put them in their cars and drive around with them."
Klaas says everyone needs to know who Hailey Dunn is and it's up to the Big Country to make that happen.

While there have been reports that
evidence was found in the search of landfills in Snyder and Colorado

anything substantial had been found he would have known about it and yet
the search continues.Law enforcement pushed forward with the
search as did volunteers who came out Thursday despite frigid
temperatures to comb fields looking for Dunn. Even though the number of
searchers has fallen, the community is not giving up."We still
want this child home," said middle school teacher Kristy Lloyd," Even
though it's over three weeks she's still in our heart's still in our
faith we want this child home."A prayer vigil will be held
tomorrow, the second since the little girl has gone missing. Held at the
gym for the First Baptist Church in Colorado City from 7:00 to 8:00 PM."Let's
just do a prayer vigil, no candles involved," Lloyd said, "Just get

No Confirmation of Evidence Found in Landfill Searches
Colorado City, TX - After one of Nancy Grace's producers reported Thursday evening that law enforcement has found evidence directly connected to Hailey Dunn during landfill searches, Colorado City's City Manager Pete Kampfer says he can't confirm that. Kampfer says if major developments of that nature occurred, he'd likely know about it.
Crews searched landfills in Colorado City and Snyder Thursday afternoon. One week prior, law enforcement and cadaver dogs searched Abilene's Allied Waste Services.
Additional sources in law enforcement tell bigcountryhomepage.com Thursday's searches were part of the ongoing criminal investigation. To their knowledge, no physical evidence directly linked to Hailey has been discovered.

Hailey Dunn Missing 27 Days; National Search Organizations Leave Colorado City
By Cassandra Garcia, KTXS News
POSTED: 7:35 pm CST January 22, 2011
UPDATED: 11:04 pm CST January 22, 2011
COLORADO CITY, Texas -- Two national search organizations who have helped in the search for missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn, have finished their job.
The Laura Recovery Center and Klaas Kids left Colorado City Saturday after five days of organizing volunteers and search parties.
About 60 volunteers showed up Saturday with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and with a formalized plan to search for Hailey Dunn.
Just days after the disappearance of Hailey Dunn, hundreds of community volunteers navigated six square miles of brush-filled land searching for the teen.
That initial grassroots movement caught the attention of the two nationally recognized search organizations, The Laura Recovery Center and Klaas Kids. These groups are experienced with training volunteers to track and document their findings.
All this week the organizations set up a command post at the Colorado City Civic Center and began equipping volunteers with skills to navigate through tough terrain, assigning group leaders, and even mapping out specific areas where law enforcement suggested they look.
Some parts of the initial six mile radius searched in Dunn, a town just north of Colorado City, were even double checked today.
Now, 27 days after his daughter vanished, Clint Dunn, said his family appreciates all the help.
"These small towns are not gonna give up, we're all pulling together and like I said before, it's amazing," said Dunn.
Volunteers will be out again Sunday starting at 9:00 a.m.
They will meet at the Colorado City Civic Center. Searchers must be 18 years of age and have a valid ID.

Law enforcement agencies are
investigating a lead in another state in connection to the disappearance
of 13-year-old Colorado City girl Hailey Dunn.Pete Kampfer told
KTXS Sunday, they are following a lead in Memphis, Tennessee. Kampfer
said he was not able to tell us any more, except that they are looking
into the lead. And while officials are investigating that lead, volunteers are still coming out in droves to search for the missing teen.Forty
people met at the Colorado City Civic Center Sunday morning, ready to
help search for Hailey, a sign that the movement to locate her is still
going strong.Volunteers braved a cold, windy morning to search
Colorado City and surrounding areas, looking in abandoned houses and in
fields. There were fewer volunteers Sunday, compared to the 60
Saturday, but many KTXS spoke with said they will look for Hailey until
she is found.Sunday, a Girl Scout troop from Coleman visited a
bridge in the town of Dunn just north of Colorado City, that has become a
prayer spot for Hailey. The search group said they will resume their search on Wednesday. On
the criminal side of the investigation, no arrests have been made,
though police have one suspect, the boyfriend of Hailey's mom, Shawn
Adkins.

Mom of Hailey Dunn’s Friend on the Sleepover That Never Happened
Monday, January 24, 2011
Cecilia Garcia says she was shocked when Shawn Adkins, the live-in boyfriend of Hailey Dunn’s mother, claimed Hailey was going to a slumber party at her family home on the night she disappeared.
“Obviously he’s not telling the truth about her spending the night at Mary Beth’s,” said Garcia.
Garcia says at her house, it’s not like these parties would happen out of the blue. “Hailey has never spent the night here,” she said.
Hailey lives just a few blocks down from Mary Beth, and four weeks later, Garcia says her daughter still hurts. “It’s been real hard on my daughter,” she said, “and she fears for Hailey.”
So much, that Mary Beth would not talk to us on camera. “She fears for her own life also,” Garcia explained. Garcia says she’ll never forget what it was like to see her daughter questioned by police and the FBI. “I got to a point where I broke down too,” she recalls, “and started crying with her.”
For now, the only thing Mary Beth has left of Hailey are the writings Hailey left on this binder.
“My daughter is pleading that she might one day get a call from her or a text,” said Garcia.
Hoping that the best friend she once heard from everyday will be home soon. Garcia says on the day Hailey disappeared, Mary beth received a text message that said “what are you doing?”
She says the message was sent from Hailey’s mother’s cell phone at about 2 o’clock, which Hailey always used, but Garcia says she worries that there is no evidence to prove Hailey sent that message.
The Garcia family says authorities have taken that text message as evidence in the investigation.

Where Did Hailey Dunn Die?
Here is the transcripts to Billie Dunn's rebuttal of the police affidavit. In this, we may have learned where Hailey died and more details regarding the case. We have previously seen a linguistic indicator that may point to Hailey having stopped breathing, but here we learn where her death may have occured.
Thanks to our Facebook friend, Heather, for her work in transcribing the interview. She did a terrific job in body language analysis as well.
Subject: Transcript: Billie Jean Dunn Responds to Affidavits
BJD: First of all in there they pointed out about the horror movies we watch and crime stories we read. We just, we do, they did make me feel like.. That's strange. That's not .. original. Which I think it is. I think a lot of people watch horror films. We have a whole lot of comedies. We watch mostly comedies. But they pointed that out, so just to get that clarified a little bit. umm
Note that the "we" of Billie Dunn and Shawn continues. They are still a couple in spite of Shawn being named an official suspect in the disappearance of her daughter.
Note her response to being asked about the slasher films is not to deny, but to add comedies to the movies watched.
"They also said I walked out after my polygraph, which is not true. I walked out about eight hours after the polygraph. After intense questioning,"
Note the words that she framed, twice, showing sensitivity. Police asked her difficult questions and she walked out after failing her polygraph and being confronted by police. What did police say that caused her to walk out?
