I am moving this case to Missing Children. It really stopped being an Amber Alert when the car was recovered.
I have no doubt that the father knows much more than he has revealed. As we have seen countless times the last person reported with the victim is the one responsible. Not always, but usually.

They've searched fields and abandoned buildings in the cold for days
but the official volunteer search for 2-year-old Bianca Jones ended
Sunday. Despite a massive effort, the little girl is still missing. Her
father says she was kidnapped after he was carjacked Dec. 2nd. Police
are still investigating the father's story. At first, Deandre Lane was
in custody, but he has since been released. Police and the FBI will
continue their investigation and efforts to find Bianca even though the
volunteer effort is ending.
A $25,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the child's safe return. You can remain anonymous. Call 1-800-SPEAKUP.

DETROIT -- The search for a missing 2-year-old from Detroit as been put on hold as authorities question the truthfulness of her father’s reports about what happened the day she went missing.
Hundreds of volunteers have been combing the area in Detroit, searching for missing Bianca Jones.
Jones’ Father, D’Andre Lane, told police he was carjacked on December 2nd, and the suspects stole his car at gunpoint. Lane claims the little girl was in the car at the time. Police were able to find the vehicle, but haven’t found the child or the suspects.
Now, the Associated Press reports police are questioning the truth of Jones’ reports about what happened that day. They’re asking the volunteers and community to remain alert, but the search teams have been postponed until they can gather further information about what happened the day the child went missing.

Sources: Bianca Jones may not be found alive
Published On: Dec 12 2011 04:55:52 PM EST
There is evidence that 2-year-old Detroit girl Bianca Jones will not be found alive, sources close to the investigation told the Local 4 Defenders.
Jones has been missing since Dec. 2, when her father, D'Andre Lane told police Bianca was in a rear car seat when he was carjacked at gunpoint. The car was found a short time later, but the girl wasn't in it.
Sources said investigators have searched Lane’s home on Mitchell Street with cadaver dogs, which did return a positive hit for signs of decomposition. Although the little girl is still missing, sources said the search for her has turned from a rescue to a recovery effort.
Organized police and volunteer efforts ended Sunday. More than 1,000 people had searched abandoned houses, fields and alleys in neighborhoods.
Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee has said "the authenticity and credibility of the original version of events" are "under intense scrutiny" from detectives.
But in an interview with Local 4, Lane said he has answering all of the questions police have been asking him.
"All this stuff that's going on, there's a lot of speculation and things being said in the media and people thinking what they want to think," he said. "I mean, the truth will come out. I'm not worried about all that. All I'm worried about is my baby coming home and I'm cooperating with police in every aspect of the investigation. Anything they need from me they just need to get in contact with us and we'll be there."

Cadaver dogs make positive hits in search for missing toddler Bianca Jones
DETROIT (WXYZ) - Action News has learned cadaver dogs picked up the scent of human remains in two locations during the investigation into the disappearance of two-year-old Bianca Jones.
Sources tell us a dog signaled there was human decomposition on or near Bianca's car seat found in the Mercury Marquis where the missing girl's father, D'Andre Lane, says she was last seen alive.
Lane claims he was carjacked at gunpoint on December 2 and that Bianca was in her car seat in the back of the vehicle when it was stolen. When the Marquis was found by police a short time later only a few blocks from the scene of the alleged crime, Bianca was nowhere to be found.
Cadaver dogs also indicated they picked up human remains last week during an FBI raid at Lane's home on Detroit's east side.
Lane was held by authorities for several days after the alleged carjacking and disappearance of his daughter, but he was set free and has maintained his innocence.
Bianca's mother says she has not given up hope her daughter will be found alive.

Cadaver Dog Picks Up Scent of Human Remains in Search for Detroit Toddler
Prosecutor's office receives warrant request

DETROIT - Sources confirm to FOX 2 that cadaver dogs searching for missing Detroit toddler Bianca Jones picked up the scent of human remains inside her father's home.
D'Andre Lane, 32, reported his daughter missing Dec. 2, claiming he was the victim of a carjacking and the two-year-old was abducted with the vehicle. The car was found later without Bianca in the rear seat.
Sources say the dog picked up the scent during last week's search inside Lane's Detroit home, increasing fears that the little girl may not be alive.
On Tuesday, Maria Miller, spokesperson for the Wayne County Prosecutor's office, confirmed the office received a warrant request from Detroit police in connection with the disappearance of Bianca. The prosecutor is reviewing the request for permission to arrest someone, but Miller says a decision won't be made this week. The prosecutor's office also says no further comments will be made this week.
A volunteer search for Bianca, which has involved more than 1,100 people, ended Sunday without any sign of her, but police said the investigation was far from over.
"The search for her is not being turned off at all ... it'll just be taking a different path," Detroit Police second deputy chief Melvin Turner told FOX 2.
Lane was taken into custody shortly after reporting the incident and spent a weekend in jail being held on misdemeanor charges before being released last Monday. "It's their job to focus on all leads and I'm the easiest target right now," Lane told FOX 2 . "I just wish they'd focus on finding the right person."
A $25,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to Bianca's safe return.

DETROIT -
The 15-year-old nephew of missing 2-year-old Bianca Jones' father, Dandre Lane, said he was with Lane the morning Bianca went missing.
Treveon Lane said he was with his uncle Dandre Lane, Bianca and two other children the night before and the morning when Bianca was reported missing by her father. Treveon Lane said he had just met Bianca earlier that week. He said the FBI, not the police, confronted him with questions about the case.
"(Bianca) was good. She was normal," Treveon Lane said. "My uncle carried her to the car, and my little cousin buckled her up. She was awake."
Dandre Lane has told police that he was carjacked at gunpoint the morning of Dec. 2. Bianca was in the car and was taken by carjackers, Lane told police. Treveon Lane said his uncle took him home at 8 a.m. that morning. At 9:55 a.m., Dandre Lane called 911 to report the carjacking and that his daughter Bianca had been taken.

Well, that helps with the timeline. Her father had almost two hours to act out his plan. He took her back home, did what he did and disposed of the evidence, all before fabricating the car-jacking story.

Detroit Police Lt. Terry Herbert holds up an Amber Alert flier for Bianca Jones

Roxanne Brown of Detroit wears a Bianca Jones button as she
volunteers to scour the city looking for the little girl, Sunday, Dec.
11, 2011 in Detroit. "I live a block from where they found the car,"
said Brown.
They came from Detroit, the suburbs and as far away as Saginaw to search for 2-year-old Bianca Jones.
And none were more determined than Roxanne Brown, a 55-year-old Detroit
homemaker, who lives around the corner from Bianca’s mother and who
spent a fifth straight day today searching for the child.
“I came out here to help, to find out where she is, how she is and what
happened to her,” Brown said while combing a field at Dequindre and
Canfield with nine other volunteers.
She said she was disappointed they had found no trace of the girl but
said she hoped to persuade her neighbors today to continue searching,
even though the official volunteer search ended today night.
Detroit police said more than 1,100 people turned out for the official
volunteer search, which began Dec. 5, three days after the girl’s
father, D’Andre Lane, 32, called 911 to report that two men had
carjacked his vehicle at gunpoint at 9:45 a.m. Dec. 2 near Grand
Boulevard and Brush. He said they drove away with his daughter in the back seat.
Police found the car about 10 minutes later at Beaubien and
Philadelphia, about a mile from the incident. Bianca wasn’t in the car.
Lane has said he received numerous death threats after police revealed
he failed a polygraph test but he insisted that he was telling the
truth about the carjacking.
Detroit police, aided by the Michigan State Police, the FBI and several
community groups, searched for the girl for the first three days after
she disappeared.
When the volunteer search ended at sundown today, police had searched 10 square miles beyond where police found Lane’s vehicle.
Detroit firefighters searched vacant buildings last week. The volunteers worked open areas, including alleys and fields.
Sunday’s searchers were aided by mounted officers from the Wayne County
Sheriff’s Office and Detroit Police Department, who searched on horseback.
Working in groups of 10 and in 40-minute- to 2-hour shifts, volunteers
were driven to areas to be searched. Each group was supervised by a
uniformed officer.
“Except for Angel’s Night, I can’t recall a time when this many
volunteers came forward,” Detroit police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens said today.
Bonnie Chapman, 48, a training and development specialist from West
Bloomfield, said she went to school with Bianca’s aunts, and wanted to
take part in the search.
“I’m going to miss the Lions today, but this is far more important,”
Chapman said. “I was hoping we would see a jacket and no sign of her,
meaning she would still be alive… But anything is possible.”
She said she searched alleys, lifting trash can lids and peeking in
storm sewer grates, looking for Bianca. Several searchers carried poking
sticks to sort through trash and other debris.
Detroiter Eddie Hughes, 71, a retired Detroit Public Schools civil
engineer, said he felt it was his civic duty to join the search on today.
“It’s the last day of the search and I wasn’t doing anything. Why not come out?” he said.
The police officer who supervised Hughes’ group, Lawrence Smith, said: “These are good spirited people.”
“Some people are out here to find the baby and I hope we do. But as a
police officer and a father, we’re also looking for evidence.”
He and other officers said they were heartened to see so many people from across the region working together for a common cause.
“Detroiters care about Bianca and that’s a reflection of how many people
came out to search for her,” said Detroit Police Lt. Terry Herbert, who
coordinated the volunteer effort.
Added Detroit Police Sgt. Daran Carey: “This is not just a Detroit thing — it affects everyone.”

The Wayne County prosecutor's office is continuing to review a warrant request connected to the disappearance of a 2-year-old Detroit girl.
Prosecutors say Monday that a decision on charges is not anticipated this week.
Detroit police submitted the request last week. Officials have not disclosed who was named in the warrant.
D'Andre Lane repeatedly has said his daughter, Bianca
Jones, was riding in a rear car seat of a vehicle he was driving when it
was taken Dec. 2 at gunpoint in Detroit's North End neighborhood.
The car was found a short time later, but Bianca was
not in it. Police have said they are looking into the truth behind
Lane's story.
Police and hundreds of volunteers have searched vacant lots, alleys and abandoned houses in search of the girl.

Two young girls -- one killed and the other missing -- will be
honored during separate services today, family members of both children
said.
A prayer service for the family of 2-year-old Bianca Jones
will be held at 6 p.m. at Greater Phillips Temple Church of God in
Detroit.
Bianca was reported missing on Dec. 2 after her father,
D'Andre Lane, told police he was carjacked at gunpoint near East Grand
Boulevard and Brush Street.
The car was found less than a mile away at Philadelphia and Beaubien, but Bianca was not in the vehicle.
The
Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has received a warrant request in
connection with Bianca's disappearance, but said the decision on whether
to issue charges isn't likely until next year.
A vigil is planned
for 6 p.m. in honor of Mariha Smith, a 5-year-old whose body was found
burned in an abandoned Detroit house in July after she disappeared from a
nearby home.
The vigil will be held in front of 2918 Waverly, where Mariha's body was found, her grandmother Diane Henry said Friday.
After
Mariha went missing, her mother told police she had passed out after a
night of drinking at a gathering at the home she shared on Burlingame.
When she awoke, Mariha was gone.
The Wayne County Medical
Examiner's Office determined Mariha died of asphyxiation before her body
was set on fire, a county spokesman previously said.
No one has been charged in connection with her death, the Prosecutor's Office said.

Re: BIANCA JONES - 2 yo (12/2011) - Detroit MI
Bianca Jones has been missing for more than three weeks, but her
family refuses to give up hope of finding the toddler alive and well.
But as time passes and details of the investigation surface, the outcome is looking bleaker.
"With
each passing day, it's getting harder and harder," said Kelly Jones,
Bianca's aunt, "but we're leaning on each other for strength."
Bianca's
father, D'Andre Lane, 32, reported he was carjacked Dec. 2 by a gunman
who drove off with the 2-year-old inside. The car was found just blocks
away. Police have scrutinized Lane's account, and he failed a polygraph
test.
A warrant request has been submitted to the Wayne County
Prosecutor's Office, but a charging decision isn't expected until the
new year. Details of the request, including its target and what charges
are being sought, have not been released.
Meanwhile, disturbing
details in the case are emerging: A cadaver dog, trained to detect human
decomposition, alerted its handler to spots in a bedroom at Lane's
house, in his car and on Bianca's car seat and blanket, a source
familiar with the investigation told the Free Press.
Lane's attorney said his client is depressed and longs for his daughter's safe return.
The question remains: Where is Bianca?
Suspicion falls on Bianca Jones' father, D'Andre Lane
D'Andre Lane has not been charged in his daughter's disappearance.
But
new details in the investigation show police quickly zeroed in on Lane
and have questioned his account of what happened the morning of Dec. 2
when his 2-year-old daughter went missing.
Lane told police he was
carjacked near his home in Detroit while he was driving to the home of
Bianca's mother to get some clothing. He said the thief fled with Bianca
still in the car.
When officers found his car 10 minutes later, the toddler was gone.
A
source familiar with the investigation told the Free Press that Lane's
daughter was in the car with Bianca earlier in the day. That daughter
told police that Bianca was covered with a blanket and that Lane said
the toddler was sleeping and not to wake her, the source said.
Lane,
32, says he failed a police polygraph test, but blames that on his
thoughts about Bianca and the carjacking. He insists he had nothing to
do with her disappearance and has called for her safe return. His
attorney, Terry Johnson, said the test wasn't conducted properly.
Police have searched Lane's home in the city's north end several times.
The
source told the Free Press that a cadaver dog was taken to the house
and alerted its handler to spots in a bedroom, in Lane's car and on
Bianca's car seat and her blanket.
Police have submitted a warrant
request to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, but neither will say
who the target is or what charges are being sought.
Johnson declined to comment on the investigation or the warrant request when reached Thursday.
He said Lane is having a difficult time.
"Mr. Lane is very depressed and withdrawn," Johnson said. "He wants his daughter's safe return so the family can be together."
'People are just talking'
The night before Bianca went missing, she wet the bed and was
reprimanded by her father, according to the source, who said Lane's
roommate told police that during an interview. The roommate told police
that Lane was strict about potty training.
Johnson previously said Lane has no history of abuse toward any of his seven children.
"I never threatened any of my children," Lane said earlier this month. "People are just talking, and I'm the bad guy."
Bianca's
mother, Banika Jones, 32, would not discuss Lane or the allegations
Friday, but said her daughter loves to dance, is determined and smart.
"She was so focused and wanted to read," Jones said. "She wanted to do everything big people do."
Jones also said Bianca was proud to be potty trained and "would take her pants off to show she was wearing big-girl underwear."
Jones also would not discuss the warrant request.
"The police are still investigating," she said. "I just want my baby home."
Grateful for volunteers
Bianca's disappearance has taken a toll on family members, who say they don't know what to do or how to feel.
"We keep saying, 'I just want her to hurry up and come back,' " said Kelly Jones, 30, Bianca's aunt.
Law enforcement and volunteers searched for Bianca, scouring vacant homes, fields and even the Detroit River.
Authorities
also searched the downtown Detroit campus of Wayne County Community
College District. Lane and Bianca were spotted on surveillance cameras
there the morning of Dec. 2, Johnson said, because he went to the school
to apply for financial aid.
Banika Jones said she is grateful for the efforts of volunteers.
"I'm
so glad and overwhelmed with love and prayer," she said. "For the
community to try to find my daughter, there is nothing I can say. There
are no words for that."
How cadaver dogs help
Experts say cadaver dogs are a useful tool in investigations, but they can't prove what happened.
Pat
Lamson, who lives in Flint and is a member of the volunteer K-9 One
Search & Rescue organization, said cadaver dogs are trained to find
human remains and can be capable of detecting even trace amounts.
"Wherever
there is contact, there is trace," said Lamson, who is a handler for an
active cadaver dog and has another in training.
Cadaver dogs can
raise suspicion and aid in police investigations, but they don't prove
there was a death, Wayne State University law professor Peter Henning
said.
"It's good for the police to conduct their investigation, but it's not proof in court," he said.
Henning
said prosecutors could face an uphill battle without finding Bianca.
Though the child is missing, that doesn't prove anyone harmed her, and
building a murder case without a body is difficult, he said.
As the weeks pass, the case becomes more challenging.
"Time," Henning said, "is the enemy of police."

DETROIT — More than a month later, prosecutors still are deciding whether to file charges in the disappearance of a 2-year-old Detroit girl, whose father says she was kidnapped during a carjacking.
Wayne County prosecutor's spokeswoman Maria Miller issued a statement Tuesday saying the case is "very labor-intensive and complex." She says Prosecutor Kym Worthy will hold a news conference when it's appropriate.
D'Andre Lane says his daughter Bianca Jones was riding with him when his car was carjacked at gunpoint on Dec. 2. The car was recovered but not the child.
Lane repeatedly has denied wrongdoing.

I know every time I see Bianca Jones name in the forum headlines, I hope when I open it up that they found her body and can charge this SOB. Him and Sky's d@mn mother. Although I am wondering now if Sky went with her father last spring when he visited from the Ukraine. Seems like LE would be able to check that out. But these darn parents saying someone kidnapped their kid out of the car is ridiculous.

Missing: Bianca Jones
Monday, February 06, 2012 By Bianca Laureano
- Family of Bianca Jones
Bianca Jones, a two year old baby from Detroit, Michigan, went missing on
December 2, 2011. The current suspicion falls on her father, D’Andre
Lane. Bianca was with her father when she disappeared. Lane claims that
he was carjacked near his home in Detroit while driving to Bianca’s
mother’s house to get clothing. The thief allegedly fled the scene with
the little girl in the backseat. When the car was found ten minutes
after Lane’s call to 911, the little girl was nowhere in sight.
A source close to the investigation told the Detroit Free Press that
Bianca was in the car earlier that day and was covered with a blanket.
Lane said that the baby was sleeping, and he did not want to wake her.
Since the questioning of his daughter’s disappearance, Lane has taken
and failed a polygraph test conducted by local police. He blames the
failure on stress due to the loss of his daughter. Cadaver dogs also
showed a response to areas in Lane’s home and car. Although he claims he
has nothing to do with her disappearance, police have put in a request
for an arrest warrant. Whether it is or is not for Lane has not been
revealed to the public.
Banika, Bianca’s mother, is devastated. “All I want is my baby home,”
she says. Bella Jones, Bianca’s 7 year old sister, sang for Bianca in
the prayer vigil held on Christmas Eve. Bianca’s disappearance has
taken a toll on family members, who say they do not know what to do or
how to feel. Kelly Jones says, “With every passing day, it’s getting

There is still an Amber Alert out for Bianca and the case is not closed yet.

Re: BIANCA JONES - 2 yo (12/2011) - Detroit MI
On the three month anniversary of her disappearance, the family of missing toddler Bianca Jones is holding a fundraiser and awareness event in Windsor on Friday.
“I’m still keeping the faith, I still have hope,” said the girl’s mother, Banika Jones. “I still believe Bianca is coming home.”
Bianca went missing on December 2, 2011 when her father D’Andre Lane claimed he was carjacked. The vehicle was recovered, but the 2-year-old hasn’t been seen since.
While the police investigation is active and ongoing, officers have scaled back their search.
Still, Banika goes out every day armed with flyers showing the picture of her daughter. She says she’s spent thousands of dollars on the flyers and on t-shirts that show the missing girl’s innocent face.
Bianca’s story, which made news headlines for weeks, caught the attention of Canadian singer, Kiko, who volunteered to put together a benefit for the child.
The event will be held at The Loop, also known as the FM Lounge at 156 Chaham St. at 9:00 p.m.
Live music, photography and speeches about Bianca and other endangered children will be featured.
A $10 cover charge will be collected at the door. Donations will also be accepted inside.
