i sure hope they searched close to home - it seems obvious but we all thought they searched the anthony neighborhood for caylee and it wasn't thoroughly searched at all. i would hope they would do a search within a 1 mile radius -

Just thinking out loud here: Was the place the dogs hit on the same place LE previously searched on Sauvie Island? Scent could still be there even if they had found a body.

On one hand, I have heard of cases where the police did not immediately release the discovery of a body, however, I don't think they would keep it quiet this long. So, I don't think he has been found.

On the other hand, why would a reputable and legitimate news agency post and article claiming that Kyron's body had been found? And then in their retraction, they stated that it was a wrong of them to have posted the article, but they did not state in their retraction that Kyron's body had not been found. Very odd.

May be the answer is somewhere in between. May be they have found personal belongs that were on his body, but not actually his body.

I sure hope that LE arrests the perp soon (you know who) and lets us know what they know about Kyron's disappearance.

Bring Kyron home soon!

One would think that should be done on every disappearance of a child. They should start on the spot where the child was last seen and search every square inch in a grid pattern. I believe they should request to search homes also. If residents do not volunteer to have their home searched they should be given the stink eye.

You are right, it was not thorough in Caylee's search or she would have been found much sooner.

Helen Jung and Kate Mather, staff writers for The Oregonian, intererviewed Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton on this morning about the ongoing search for Kyron Horman. Here is a transcript of the interview:

Jung: "Well I guess if we could first start by talking about the scope of the investigation. If you can give us an idea of how many people and what kind of resources you have dedicated to this effort and what kind of cost that is?"

Staton: "Right now the number of resources versus when we started the initial phases of looking for Kyron, up to this point, obviously we've reduced them down because the scope of the investigation has changed significantly. Initially we had approximately between 35 and 40 search and rescue groups from around the state of Oregon, some from Washington, some from Northern California, that supported our effort in looking for Kyron and we employed them along with our own search and rescue groups. The total base initially -- during the first five days of the search we had approximately 562 searchers initially. Then that significantly increased and we were up to about 1,200 searchers until we had completed all aspects of the search at that point.

That is a stupid answer IMO. They seem to have gone as far as they can with the investigation but still no arrest and no Kyron so I just don't understand still refusing to tell the public whether anyone saw Kyron leave the school. It's time they told the public exactly what they have found out. From all the cases I see on TV doco's it's usually the public that solve it with a tip etc. I also don't understand why searches have stopped. Apart from the school and house they know where TH went that morning from her cell pings so they need to keep searching. Telling the public where TH went that morning may jog someone's memory.
